This sequence of events suggests Zurkie was under the employ of the [[Nefarious Empire]] to commit this act of genocide, the reason for which is unknown. After this however, Zurkie had a revelation and felt that there was nothing left for him to accomplish by killing anymore and that he could kill anything; except hunger and thirst. He then gave up his violent ways and built a place in the debris of Scarstu where he felt he could slay these feelings on a daily basis.

History

Pre-Rift Apart

Sometime years prior to the events of Rift Apart, Zurkie was the same as his counterpart Mr. Zurkon and took great joy in crushing his enemies. As an elite synthoid weapon, Zurkie was used to bring mass extinction upon the people of the planet Scarstu and the planet was then destroyed by Emperor Nefarious. This sequence of events suggests Zurkie was under the employ of the Nefarious Empire to commit this act of genocide, the reason for which is unknown. After this however, Zurkie had a revelation and felt that there was nothing left for him to accomplish by killing anymore and that he could kill anything; except hunger and thirst. He then gave up his violent ways and built a place in the debris of Scarstu where he felt he could slay these feelings on a daily basis.

Rivet speaking with Zurkie at his pub

After forming a mutual bond, Rivet and Clank headed to Zurkie's to find Pierre Le Fer, to aquire a signal booster needed to repair Clank's broken communicator so that he could speak with Ratchet. When Rivet challenges Pierre to a fight for the part, Zurkie comes between them and reminds them that his establishment is a violence free zone. He then tells them to take it outside in the Battleplex to settle their quarrel. Zurkie spends most of his time behind the bar at his gastropub, mixing drinks and preparing meals, with his son Zurkon Jr. taking orders and serving patrons.

Family

Like his counterpart Mr. Zurkon and his wife Mrs. Zurkon, Zurkie is in a loving relationship with his own partner Ms. Zurkon, though their marital status is ambiguous. Ms. Zurkon finds Zurkie's fresh new outlook on life to be inspiring and also like their counterparts they have a beloved son named Zurkon Jr. together. Although Zurkie has given up his violent ways, his partner and son are still very much in the business of violence, with Ms. Zurkon selling weapons and ammo from her vendor and sponsoring the Battleplex, while Zurkon Jr. is the arena announcer and works in the Gastropub with his father. Zurkon Jr. however seems to hold some degree of bitterness towards his father for becoming a pacifist, mocking his new peaceful ideals whilst taking orders from patrons and exclaiming that he wishes his mother ran the Gastropub instead, so violence could be permitted. Yet despite their differences they are a close knit loving family and run their business ventures together.
