The vroom goon is an expert tracker mounted on a custom Megacorp hoverbike. It is unique to the Goons-4-Less enemy faction in Rift Apart, as it is a common heavy flying unit, a unit not seen in any other.

History[]

Rift Apart[]

They are first encountered on the intact dimension version of Blizar Prime, when they follow Rivet across dimensions. The goons are unable to differentiate their lombax target from her and Ratchet, and so attacked them both, but later pursued them for Dr. Nefarious' increased bounty that he had placed on the two. The vroom goons pursue Rivet throughout the alternate Blizar Prime, where she attempts to obtain Phase Quartz to power the Dimensionator. They also try to break the VAC-U-SUK during the optional mission "Find the Missing Chef", where Rivet helps Chef Tulio harvest sirangian honey from the fendersax wasp hive.

They later appear at Zurkie's Battleplex, in the Gold Cup challenge "Vroom Around", where they are fought in low gravity by Rivet. The vroom goons are not fought by Ratchet at any point in Rift Apart, only Rivet.

Vroom goons have a high amount of health, and this combined with their mobility means that it is suggested using heavy weapons like the Negatron Collider and Warmonger on them. Additionally, the Drillhound is a poor choice as it tends to miss vroom goons when jumping out of the ground. The vroom goons have a unique electric rod attack, where they fire hovering electric rods across the ground towards Rivet, with chains of deadly electricity between them. These can be hectic to keep track of on a battlefield with multiple enemies, so it is suggested to keep your attention on them and clear the ground area of hostiles as quick as possible first, before focusing your full attention on the vroom goons. The chained electric rods can be jumped over or avoided using a Phantom Dash; strafing is also a useful way to stay out of the way of their incoming trajectory. The Void Repulser can be used to block them.
