The Void Repulser is a weapon in Rift Apart. It is a defensive weapon that doubles as a shotgun-like weapon. The weapon creates a forcefield in front of the user, which can be used to block ranged projectiles coming towards Ratchet or Rivet. This same shield can be used in a burst of energy to damage enemies in front.
The weapon can be purchased from Mrs. Zurkon on Urfdah Mesa, Savali upon returning during "Find the Dimensionator Blueprints" for 17,500 bolts. At level 5, it upgrades to the Void Reactor, which allows it to catch projectiles and fire them back at enemies. In challenge mode, the Omega Void Reactor can be purchased for 200,000 bolts.

Gameplay[]
Aiming the Void Repulser with will cause it to generate the shield in front of Ratchet or Rivet. This shield will absorb a certain amount of damage, reducing the shield's power percentage (its ammo) by a small amount each time. Pulling fully will unleash a blast of energy that consumes 10% of the shield's power. The best way to use the shield is defensively, to block projectiles from ranged attacks, using its blast of energy to attack smaller enemies that approach Ratchet or Rivet while doing so. Due to the weapon's unique defensive role, it can prove useful in dire situations.
The raritanium upgrades to the weapon typically improve its offensive capabilities. Improving its max ammo and unlocking the bonus Block Cost upgrade will increase the amount of damage the shield can absorb, while the rest of the upgrades pertain to improving the weapon's blast radius and damage output. These upgrades can make the weapon more broadly useful in these situations, though the weapon remains better used as a defensive weapon.
Once fully upgraded with XP, it becomes the Void Reactor, which adds the ability to catch projectiles and then fire them back at enemies. This greatly expands the weapon's range and makes it much more versatile. However, it remains limited by its short range and relatively low damage output. This means that it is still best used primarily as a defensive weapon throughout its lifecycle. Particularly, it can be used in tandum with support weapons such as Mr. Fungi, the Glove of Doom, or the Bombardier, which can be a strong combination against tough fights with ranged enemies or bosses.
The Void Reactor is required for the bronze trophy "Return Policy", wherein the player must kill ten enemies by catching projectiles with the Void Reactor and firing them back at enemies.
