Venantonio is a location in Secret Agent Clank. It is a toxic, inhospitable planet in the Solana Galaxy. The planet is overrun by amoeboids, the only creatures who can survive in its acid-filled sewers. The sewers are home to a secret laboratory located beneath the opera house of the canals. In the laboratory, several experimental strains of amoeboids are found.
Clank visited the planet in search of the Eye of Infinity. When he arrived, he did not find the eye, but did find that the laboratory was being used by the Kingpin for sinister experiments.
History[]
At some point, Venantonio was hospitable, and its opera house was its crown jewel.[1]
The labs of Venantonio were home to several experiments: Experiment #21C for an exploding amoeboid strain, Experiment #27A for a "Squishy Containment and Suspension Field", Experiment #9D for "Cranial Musical Chairs", and Experiment #18A: for a "Self-Deodorizing Amoeboid Strain". An experimental flamethrower, the Blowtorch Briefcase, was another experiment in the lab.[2] In addition to this, a Venantonio scientist was forced by Klunk, operating as the Kingpin, to use the lab to build a laser that could break into the Bolt Foundry in Fort Sprocket. The scientist finished his work, but lied that he had failed to, believing that he would be killed once he was done.[3]

Clank arrived at Venantonio after the Sexy Robot in Le Paradis Des Tricheurs Casino informed him it had been taken to its "rightful owner" there.[4] Though the Agency operated under intelligence that the lab was inaccessible due to high-tech security, Clank was able to enter with no issue.[5] In "Crashing the Party", Clank infiltrated the lab, finding the Blowtorch Briefcase, and saw the Kingpin's Head Goon threatening the scientist. Clank knocked out the head goon and took the scientist away, before escaping through the canals in "Danger off Starboard".

In "Qwarkography, Ch. 3", Captain Qwark and Barney later arrived in the canal after Clank had left. In the opera house of the city, Qwark sang an opera in which he claimed to have been hired to protect the city, having saved it from clam dudes that wished to sink it, invading aliens, sea lemurs from the sewers who staged a coup, "butterfly things" causing typhoons, and an ocean god that rose up from the depths, all in one day.[6]

Venantonio is covered in acid sludge, making it inhospitable (Clank was warned that the acid could scar his face[1]). The city on the surface is spread across islands that are traversed by canals, which during Clank's visit are also filled with acid, as well as bridges.
The labs beneath the city comprise metal hallways connecting several rooms. Many of these contain tubes where amoeboids are experimented upon, while a few larger rooms contain floating platforms used to traverse them. The rooms are protected by sludge slinger and trash drone guards, as well as laser security systems.

Qwark's opera originally included additional sequences: when Qwark was due to have a parade at the city, a legal brute representing all those Qwark had slain served a civil suit to him, however Qwark snapped his neck while pretending to sign the cheque. The town was not pleased by the mess Qwark had made from all of the killing and his huge fees, they requested he stay and clean up but he refused. This section is included in the High Impact Games Treehouse.
Venantonio is a reference to the city of Venice, which the city on the surface resembles.
