Up Your Arsenal vendors

The Gadgetron vendor.

Up Your Arsenal features several vendors, some recurring in some form from Ratchet & Clank and Going Commando. Gadgetron Corporation still retains the most common weapons and ammunition vendors in the Solana Galaxy. They still offer the latter remotely through their Gadgetron Personal Delivery Assistant device, now at a standard rate of ten times the default price. They are also still available at essentially every location, retaining their original design, except with a bright orange color.

Slim Cognito also returns, offering a handful of Megacorp weapons in his hideout on Aquatos, with more becoming available nearer the end of the game. Unlike Going Commando's Gadgetron weapons, these were upgradeable, including their Mega version, which was sold at Gadgetron vendors in challenge mode. The PDA did not sell Megacorp ammo however.

The Starship Phoenix itself contained two vendors, one for armor, and one for paint jobs for the Star Explorer. Unlike previous games all vendors only required standard bolts as currency.

Gadgetron vendor

The standard Gadgetron vendor has been updated and no longer features the salesman Moby, but does include an option to purchase full ammunition for every single weapon at once. When using the weapons vendor on the Starship Phoenix, if the player has a Ratchet & Clank save file with the Hologuise gadget obtained, they can get a 10% discount on all new weapons or weapon upgrades as a Gadgetron employee who had been with the company for two years, as promised by Wendell Lumos. Customers can also try out new weapons for free here on the VR deck.

The Starship Phoenix offers access to its own armor vendor, selling Gadgetron-made armor for Ratchet that unlocked as he progressed through the game. It also has a ship customization terminal for the Star Explorer, which offered wing and nose jobs for a small price, as well as paint jobs. The latter did require a certain number of skill points to be acquired before they would be available for purchase.

The dropship used by the Galactic Rangers also came equipped with an on-board weapons vendor.

Slim Cognito

Ratchet and Clank encountered Slim Cognito on Aquatos during "Infiltrate the underwater hideout". At first he only sold the Lava Gun and Miniturret Glove, but later acquired the Bouncer, Plasma Coil, and Shield Charger in his stock. These three are respectively unlocked upon landing on the Thran Asteroid Belt, planet Koros, and Mylon. As with the Help Matron Slim gives them away for free if the player had a Going Commando save file.

Pricing

The final five weapons are only available for purchase at Slim Cognito's vendor in Aquatos.
