This page is a list of all gold bolt locations in Tools of Destruction. There are a total of 32 gold bolts hidden in each of the locations. They are used to purchase skins for Ratchet in the Extras menu. The majority of these are accessible on the first visit, though this is under the presumption the player is already in possession of the required gadget.
Several gold bolts can only be acquired after revisiting the location later, as the required item is only available later in the game. The Treasure Mapper will make it much easier to acquire most gold bolts, as they are clearly marked by their own icon.
Collecting all gold bolts will grant you the "Golden Children" skill point.

Cobalia[]
The first gold bolt in the game is clearly shown in a short cutscene upon exiting the gelatonium plant, after completing "Restore the Gelatonium Pumps", serving as the goal of the mission "Search Cobalia". Take the path behind the Smuggler's ship and use the rotating platforms to follow the path shown in the cutscene until you reach the gold bolt.
Kortog[]
The first gold in Stratus City, Kortog, is available after completing "Fly to the Hall of Knowledge", and serves as the goal of the mission "Explore Stratus City". In the city center, close to the Hall of Knowledge and your ship's landing pad, is a circular structure that is occupied by various drophyd units. At the highest part of the structure's stairway is the gold bolt.
The second gold bolt is inside the Hall of Knowledge's jellyfish chamber. Once the jellyfish have risen to the surface you can use one close to the wave-emitting device to reach an alcove through a high jump to locate the bolt.
Voron Asteroid Belt[]

A bonus target.
To acquire the gold bolt, you must destroy all five "bonus targets" which are spread throughout the level in one attempt. They shimmer in various colors, so are easily spotted, but have to be destroyed before the Aphelion flies too far away from them.
The first bonus target comes within range as soon as the first battle cruiser passes you by. The second target is next to a mine, after momentarily exiting the asteroid belt and flying through the nanotech induction rings, before re-entering the belt again. The third is also within the belt, after flying through the third ring. The fourth is while you are in control of Clank operating the rear turret, shortly after the third enemy ship wave arrives. Note that this is harder to hit as the Aphelion will be moving away, rather than towards the target. The fifth bonus target is at the entrance of the passage through the large asteroid at the end of the level, right when Captain Slag order his crew to pull back.
Mukow[]
- After "Explore the Festival"
The first gold bolt on Mukow requires you to have entered the path for the mission "Trail of Turning Terror", and can be acquired after passing across the final set of Swingshot versa-target challenges. In the courtyard, stick to the left edge of the area, and jump over the railing once it ends to find a closed off grassy area with the gold bolt flanked by four raritanium chests.
In "Find Qwark", after using the meteor pad to reach the top of a building, approach the zip line to the next area, but do not use it. Instead, look to the left to spot a lone bridge structure, with several flamethrower statues, and a gold bolt at the end.
- After "Search the Station"
This gold bolt can only be picked up after completing "Search the Station", and receiving the Geo-Laser, on the Apogee Space Station. Return to the zipline from the previous bolt and use it to reach the next area, then clear it of enemies. Up ahead, tucked between the stairs and a platform (with two drophyd troopers) is a natural rock formation with the gold bolt and several chests visible behind it. Use the Geo-Laser to destroy the natural gate to gain access, and also earn the "One Heckuva Peephole" skill point.
- After "Trade Souls for the Decryptor"
For this gold bolt you need the Decryptor acquired from the Smuggler on Sargasso in "Trade Souls for the Decryptor". Use the gadget to disable a forcefield on the right side of the wall, as soon as you enter the main Festival area after exiting the landing pad dock. Once disabled, wall jump to the top to grab the bolt.
Nundac Asteroid Ring[]
Use a teleporter cannon to reach teleport cannon Beta's asteroid. Follow the narrow path until you reach a meteor pad, which has to be ignored in favor of the long trail of versa-targets to the right. The gold bolt is on the tiny asteroid at the end, hidden behind a row of stalagmites.
Ardolis[]
At the optional Heli-Pods path at the start, after reaching the docked pirate ships, use the Heli-Pods gadget to raise the anchor, lowering the attached platform. Step onto the platform and wait for the pods to die out, lowering the anchor and raising the platform again. This allows you to reach the gold bolt on-top of the ship's deck to the left of the platform.
After "Return to the Fight Festival" Return to the pirate base and defeat all the space pirates present, then use the Holo-Pirate Disguise gadget acquired in "Return to the Fight Festival" to open the pirate doorkeeper and access the elevator. Use the walkways to reach the bolt in a small room on the far right.
Use the teleporter at the start of the level to return to the Blackstar Memorial Radio Tower, and convince another doorkeeper (on the right upon entering) to open up with the Holo-Pirate Disguise to reach a third gold bolt.
Rakar Star Cluster[]
As with the Voron Asteroid Belt, all five bonus targets must be destroyed in one attempt to acquire the gold bolt. The first target is directly behind the red moon at the very start, which can be briefly targeted by Ratchet, but will otherwise have to be shot while moving away with Clank. The second is at the end of the Clank section, while you are moving through the broken asteroid shells.
The third is only spotted very briefly after the nanotech induction rings, hidden amidst another set of asteroid remains, while passing by a group of moons. The fourth is clearly visible while passing by the first star near the end. The fifth target is hidden underneath one of the harvester's 'umbrellas' on the right, prior to the second set of induction rings.
Rykan V[]
Climb the metal cube to the left of the devices vendor and hang onto the yellow rim of the cylinder behind it. Shimmy across the ledge to the left, and then again to reach the other side of the Rykan V spaceport. After exploring it, head to the building at the far left corner, and go around it from the left side. There will be a small space behind it, with another ledge that has to be used to reach a hidden room at the rear with the gold bolt inside.
Face the Center for Advanced Lombax Research's structure, at the end of the Gyro-cycle course, and look to the left for a stack of bolt crates, along with a chest. Enter this alcove, then look for the gold bolt hidden amidst the grass behind the large boulder on the left side.
Sargasso[]
After exiting the kerchu gelatonium outpost, look to the left of the large silo below you to spot the gold bolt at the edge of the platform. Simply glide down to reach it.
Upon exiting the lombax testing facility, and the completion of "Investigate the Kerchu Outpost", you will be able to explore Sargasso. Remain at the exit area however and head for the yellow building up ahead, past the kerchu pyroguards. Head around and then approach the troglosaur behind to discover a set of tri-pads underneath it, one within reach, and two others beneath its rear leg. Activating all tri-pads unlocks a door to the animal's left, behind which is the gold bolt.
Use the Robo-Wings at the launch pad closest to the landing platform and head directly for the set of four kerchu platforms near the north-west area of the map. The gold bolt is on the flat platform, guarded by two kerchu rollers, while pyroguards patrol the other platforms.
The fourth gold bolt is located on the back of a troglosaur in the south-west area of Sargasso.
Kreeli Comet[]
When you have to use ledge traversal to climb on-board a pirate ship, keep using the ledge to shimmy all the way around. Drop down once you have solid ground beneath you, and use the Holo-Pirate Disguise to trick the doorkeeper. Enter the ship to find the gold bolt and several chests, and use the elevator to return to the deck.
Viceron[]
The first gold bolt is at the end of an optional Heli-Pods path close to the landing pad. Use the gadget to lift a series of platforms, doors, and bridges until you reach a bolt crank. Activate it to raise a giant fan, with which you can move an adjacent platform once it has been lifted up as well. You will need to ride the platform from fan to fan, raising the gates blocking the fans from atop your platform. The Heli-Pod lifting the platform up will also run out from time to time, forcing you to quickly attach another, although the platform does 'fall' slowly. After another bolt crank you only need to adjust one more fan, this time by shooting the attached Heli-Pod to lower the cover. Thereafter you will reach the end and a gold bolt, crates, and chests.
Within the Zordoom Prison interior are two corridors with inmates that reach out through tentacles and long arms. The first corridor is traversed during "Jailbreak" and requires you to use the Decryptor to open a gate at the end. To the left of this Decryptor port is another port which activates an elevator adjacent to it. Ride the elevator to the top to access a walkway with the gold bolt at the end.
Verdigris Black Hole[]
As with the Rakar Star Cluster, all five bonus targets must be destroyed in one attempt to acquire the gold bolt. The first target is at the front of the first battle cruiser, visible as the Aphelion approaches the black hole. The second is within the minefield on the way to the Pegasus Outpost. The third is inbetween the last two satellite turrets. The fourth is within the frozen gorge, shortly after being attacked by the local defenses. The fifth and final target is visible for a few seconds at the very end of the Clank section, near the top of the screen.
Jasindu[]
Enter the underground gelatonium facility and continue until you reach a large natural chamber with a pool of gel, and two kerchu-made spaces on the left and right side. The right side has a bolt crank, whereas the left has a large piece of machinery, behind which the gold bolt is hidden.
Prior to entering Kerchu City is a yellow building that has to be passed through. Upon exiting, turn to the left and climb the hidden path to the roof. Up here is a short route to the gold bolt, which is protected by corsairs and a swab.
Ublik Passage[]
To the right of the first bolt crank is a grav-ramp heading down the side. Follow it and you will reach a secret path (where you will also find a holo-plan piece). At the end of the path is a small boat with a Heli-Pod target on it. Use it to levitate upward to a bigger boat where you will find the bolt on a platform held by a crane.
At the very end of the level, next to the doorkeeper leading to Slag, head up the grav-ramp to the left. You will find a Gyro-cycle launch pad, which will lead you down a tunnel to the gold bolt.
Reepor[]
- After "Escape the Cragmite Caves"
From the ship, head back the way you came and hop across to the second fallen stalactite. There, pan the camera around and search the south (your left) wall near the bottom to find a platform near the bottom. Glide down and raise it with a Heli-Pod. Follow the path to the gold bolt.
For the second gold bolt; backtrack some more until you reach the weapons vendors. Look behind this vendor to see a series of stacked platforms, which have to be traversed to reach the gold bolt.
Igliak[]
The first gold bolt is accessible after using a grav-ramp to climb the first tower. Turn around to spot the bolt hovering above a dome-shaped glass building below. Glide down to it and land onto the bolt to grab it.
After passing through the tower and reaching the other side of the city, follow the path up to the obsidian enforcer at the end. Defeat it, then stand on one of the balconies on the right to spot the gold bolt at the rear of a dome-shaped building, which can be reached with a long jump. You can hug the wall and walk along the metal rim to return to the main path.
Fastoon[]
The final gold bolt is close to the entrance to the Court of Azimuth. Activating the bolt crank will move the bridge for Talwyn, and also unlock the bars blocking entry into the bottom of the structure that the bridge will have connected to. Enter to obtain the gold bolt.
