The Thundersmack is a weapon manufactured by GrummelNet Industries featured in All 4 One and Full Frontal Assault. It is a handheld weather machine that generates storm clouds, which strike nearby enemies with bolts of lightning.
In All 4 One, It can be upgraded to the Elite Thundersmack by purchasing an elite upgrade from a vendor. In Full Frontal Assault, it can be upgraded with use to the Alpha Thundersmack.
History[]
Ratchet and Clank re-imagined[]
In the Ratchet & Clank movie, during the invasion of the Starship Phoenix, Clank ultimately defeats Victor Von Ion by rusting him up with a rainstorm created by a Thundersmack. It had no effect on Clank due to him being waterproof.
All 4 One[]
The Thundersmack was engineered by frustrated meteorologists on the outer ring of Methalon-Sigma.[1]
It is first available to purchase at the W.A.S.P. segment of Octonok Cay for 25,000 bolts, and becomes available to upgrade with additional bolts upon reaching the Kaleero Trail segment of Terawatt Forest. It is not upgraded with use, but its ammo can be upgraded for 10,000 bolts, and its power for 25,000 bolts. After purchasing the ammo and power upgrades, it can receive an elite upgrade for 60,000 bolts, transforming it into the Elite Thundersmack.
Full Frontal Assault[]
The Thundersmack later returned with a completely different design, now appearing in the form of a deployable beacon that generated storm clouds via a glove.
Characteristics[]
In All 4 One, the Thundersmack is a handheld weapon that fires out small storm clouds, which stabilize above the battlefield and strike nearby enemies with bolts of lightning. Using multiple Thundersmacks together, and firing multiple storm clouds into the same point to combine them, would create an overload attack and unleash a massive tempest, firing lightning bolts in all directions.[2] The power upgrade increases the longevity of each created storm cloud by about twice as long. The elite upgrade will double the range of each created storm cloud's lightning strikes. Additionally, each created storm cloud will now, for some seconds, spawn five smaller spinning clouds directly beneath it, causing bonus damage on the ground.
