Thugs-4-Less: If it ain't broke, we'll break it.

The motto of Thugs-4-Less, GC

The Thugs-4-Less was a small mercenary company based in the Bogon Galaxy, although it also operated in the Polaris Galaxy at a later point. It offered various services, but it mainly served as muscle and/or hit jobs. The company was mainly operated by the lizard like Thugs, though Robots and other organic species were also members. Its HQ was located on planet Snivelak. Its former CEO was a Thug. Thugs-4-Less had also won the Best Small Mercenary Company to Work For award over four times in a row, largely in part because they were "murdering the competition…literally"

Thugs-4-Less was known to have a hand in two majors disasters: one was the Protopet rampage of the Bogon Galaxy while the other was the release of the Nethers from the Netherverse into their dimension.

Description

The brotherhood was made up entirely by the unnamed Thug species, which was possibly a decision made by the boss to strengthen the bond between the brotherhood. However, they never did stay loyal to one client and would kill or destroy the current client's operations for the right price. This behavior was shown when dealing with Angela Cross. The boss seemed to love destruction and always got the organization in to the mix whenever Megacorp had suspicious activity. Propaganda and fear was shown throughout the Thugs as a desert rider said: "Don't worry, the boss only yells because he loves us." They also commonly used the Desert Riders' Hoverbike track on planet Barlow.

History

Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando

Following The Thief escape from her Flying Lab on planet Aranos, The Thief contacted the Thug-4-Less Leader, offering him a large sum of money for his forces service in preventing Ratchet from obtaining the Experiment. The Thugs-4-Less Leader agreed and The Thief asked for an elite team of Thugs-4-Less forces to meet him on Oozla. The Thugs-4-Less team The Thief requested arrived at the Megacorp Outlet, covering their new employer while The Thief attempted to purchase some maps of the local quadrant. The Thief realized he forgot his wallet, and asked the Thugs-4-Less goons to take care of it, which they did so by throwing the cashier into the perimeter defense control switch, causing the entire Megacorp Outlet to be assaulted by the local wildlife.

After Ratchet had reached the Megacorp Outlet, he was contacted by Mr. Fizzwidget, who informed Ratchet that the Thug-4-Less had towed a moon sized Jamming Array around the Maktar Resort in the Maktar Nebula, which was disrupting the annual Galactic Gladiators broadcast. Ratchet assured the Megacorp CEO he would take care of it, and he left Oozla for the Maktar Nebula. While passing through the Wupash Nebula, Ratchet was ambushed by dozens of Thug-4-Less ships, attempting to stop him from reaching the Maktar Resort. Nevertheless, Ratchet managed to obliterate them all, and continued to the Maktar Resort.

At the Maktar Resort, more Thugs-4-Less goons were waiting for him, but Ratchet took care of them, and was able to find a Space Limo to reach the Jamming Array, which he dismantled.

Ratchet & Clank would later investigate the Desert Riders on planet Barlow, as the group was closely associated with Thugs-4-Less. After becoming members, they overheard a transmission from the Thugs-4-Less Leader ordering all agents to meet up in Feltzin System in Sector 12345.

While the thugs reunited in Sector 12345, Ratchet & Clank arrived and tore up Thugs-4-Less spaceships by the boatloads. After they had decimated loads of Thugs-4-Less space fleet, they picked a stray transmission between the Thugs-4-Leader and the Unknown Thief. The Thief was angered that the Thugs-4-Less were throwing a picnic (the Thugs-4-Leader claimed it was a bonding exercise) rather than serving the Thief as bodyguards, threatening to cut their contract if a detachment of Thugs-4-Less mercenaries didn't arrive in Canal City on planet Notak.

Ratchet & Clank arrived on planet Notak just in time to see the Thief take off. Hoping to discover the Thief's reason for being on Notak, Ratchet & Clank would explore Canal City, encountering Thugs-4-Less mercenaries lying in wait for their arrival.

Later on, someone (implied to be Captain Qwark) contacted the Thugs-4-Less, offering them a hire pay to protect Mr. Fizzwidget and dump the thief as their client. The Thugs-4-Less Leader quickly agreed, and Thugs-4-Less took over the Angela Cross's (the true identity of Thief) Flying Lab, and transformed it into the Thugs-4-Less prison.

Ratchet & Clank were informed by Angela Cross on Todano that the experiment, now known as the Protopet, had a dangerous temperament that made it unsafe for sale as a pet. Ratchet & Clank learned he was giving free Protopet samples to the citizens of Silver City on planet Boldan, and attempted to inform him about the Protopet. At the same time, the Thugs-4-Leader informed his goons their job was to protect Mr. Fizzwidget at all cost, and offered a free pizza party to the squad that "bagged" the two troublemakers. When the duo touched down in Silver City, they were promptly attacked by Thugs-4-Less mercenaries that had overrun the city. Ratchet was able to blast his way to what they thought was Mr. Fizzwidget, only to learn it was a Fizzwidget Bot. After attempting to get information out of the robot, Ratchet & Clank were arrested by Thugs-4-Less goons for the attempted murder of "Mr. Fizzwidget", unaware the guy they were protecting was really a robot.

The duo were then sent to Thugs-4-Less prison, but Clank managed to sneak through the ventilation system and deactivate Ratchet's cell. After the due freed their Star Explorer, Angela Cross phoned Ratchet & Clank, who had managed to sneak aboard a Thugs-4-Less Carrier Ship. The ship was apparently picking something up from the Megacorp Distribution Center on planet Smolg. Before she could go into more detail, she sneezed, attracting the attention of the Thugs-4-Leader. She attempted fool him into think she was kitten, but this only work for a few seconds before she realized who she really was. He promptly ordered his goons to take the Thug HQ on planet Snivelak, and taunted Ratchet & Clank to come and get her.

Soon thereafter, Ratchet and Clank took down the Thugs' fleet in the Gorn orbit, infuriating the Thugs-4-Less Leader, ordering them to stay out of his way. Ratchet & Clank had other plans however, assaulting the Thug HQ. Much to their surprise, the Thugs-4-Less Leader was waiting for them in a Giganto Mech with Angela Cross being held captive in the mechs chest. Ratchet & Clank managed to defeat the Thugs-4-Less Leader, where he and a large number of his associates were promptly arrested and thrown into the Prison Complex on the Prison Planet in the Solana Galaxy.

The Thugs appeared in the filming of the new Secret Agent Clank film. They were in the film as hired minions of Maximillian, and they attacked in their helicopters during Giant Clank's fight with The Terror of Talos.

Secret Agent Clank

When Ratchet was arrested for "stealing" the Eye of Infinity, several Thugs-4-Less prisoners led by former Thugs-4-Less Leader attempted to get their revenge, although they failed on every occasion.

Qwark also hired Thugs-4-Less to play the sea lemurs in his musical on Planet Venantonio.

Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault

During Zurgo's plot of revenge against Qwark, he sacked the Thugs-4-Less Outpost for explosives he could use detonate his secret base should the QForce enter the base.

Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus

Thanks to the Progs, the thug rental business is booming. Thugs-4-Less are hired mercenaries with big muscles and bigger weapons. They kill, they rob, they pillage. You get the idea.

Job Description

Pay for six hits, and the seventh is free!

Thug Leader on Thugs-4-Less' "specials.", GC

Thugs-4-Less offered many services for the paying client, which varied from task to task and how much money the client offered to cough up.

Typically, Thugs-4-Less employees were assigned "special" jobs (hit jobs) with no questions asked, with clients who payed for six hits getting the seventh free. Some Thugs-4-Less units were typically too expensive for most clients, such as Thugs-4-Less Elite Henchmans, who were only available to high-paying clients.

Thugs-4-Less employees could also be hired to act as bodyguards for clients, as evidenced by Megacorp hiring Thugs-4-Less to protect "Abercrombie Fizzwidgit" (a.k.a Abercrombie Fizzwidgit Bot).

Thugs-4-Less also operated a flying prison, known as the Thugs-4-Less Prison, on planet Aranos. Thugs-4-Less Prison offered it's prisoners "species appropriate diets (including vegan and fruitarian meals), fitness courses to keep prisoners healthy and counseling for prisoners when they were feeling blue." The prison was also guarded by homicidal robots that would terminate anyone attempting to escape.

Subdivisions

The Thugs-4-Less organization had several sub-groups contained within it. These groups included the Desert Riders, a group of non-thug Hoverbike riders, they also had the Thugs-4-Less Limited Liability Corporation Incorporated - which recognized the CEO's birthday and every third labor day as holidays - and the Destructapalooza sub-group who ran the Destructapalooza.
