The Enforcer is a weapon in Rift Apart. It is a double-barrel shotgun that fires a scatter of shots at enemies in a short-to-medium range. It has strong damage over a wide radius in front of it, but a low rate-of-fire.

The Enforcer can be purchased early on from Mrs. Zurkon in Megapolis, Corson V for 1,250 bolts. At level 5, it upgrades to the Executor. In challenge mode, the Omega Executor can be purchased for 40,000 bolts.

Gameplay[]

Pulling R2 halfway will cause the Enforcer to fire a single barrel, while pulling it fully causes it to unleash a full blast from two barrels that can deal more damage over a wider radius. The majority of the time, the latter is preferred, though a small blast can be used against a smaller number of enemies. The Enforcer is best at the roles of defeating mobs of small enemies quickly, or hitting medium or large enemies that fight at melee range. Its short range and low rate-of-fire are major shortcomings in other areas, but early on, it is unparalleled in its ability to wipe out mobs of swarmer enemies, while still being strong against medium-sized melee enemies.

Standard raritanium upgrades for the Enforcer improve its ammo, blast radius, and range. Of its bonus upgrades, Mega Knockback is the most potent; this upgrade improves its ability to knock back tougher enemies at melee range, greatly increasing its utility at tackling larger melee enemies. Among its other upgrades, most others simply enhance its role at dealing with mobs of swarmers or melee enemies. Though the range upgrade somewhat alleviates its biggest shortcoming—its short base range—it is still outclassed by other long-range weapons in this area.

Once fully upgraded with XP, it becomes the Executor, which gives the weapon two more barrels and also allows it to fire twice per unit of ammo, giving it the ability to fire either two or four barrels at once as a result. The Executor effectively fills its niche as a shotgun weapon throughout the game, remaining one of the strongest options for dealing with melee enemies, but its shortcomings in other areas cause it to fall behind as it does not keep pace with the strength of other weapons. As such, other options for dealing with melee enemies, including the Topiary Sprinkler, Glove of Doom, Void Repulser, and Cold Snap may become more appealing.
