Telescreens[1] are devices in Going Commando, Up Your Arsenal, and Tools of Destruction. They are portable TV screens commonly used in the Bogon Galaxy, occasionally the Solana Galaxy, and the Polaris Galaxy.
In Bogon and Solana, they function similarly to infobots. They display shows, commercials, and infomercials, as well as contain planetary coordinates. Throughout Going Commando, Ratchet and Clank relied on them to obtain coordinates to new planets, and in Up Your Arsenal, the few that were seen played videos.
In Tools of Destruction, Emperor Tachyon sent out messages to the Polaris Galaxy through telescreens. The messages included both messages aimed at his Imperial Army,[2][3] and at Ratchet himself.[4][5] These appeared to be pre-recorded messages, as they repeated after playing.
Behind the scenes[]
In early builds of Notak, an infobot appeared to advertise Slim Cognito's Ship Shack, in place of where the telescreen appears in the final game.[6]
