Take Clank to Rivet's Hideout is a mission in Rift Apart. After finding Clank in Nefarious City, Rivet takes him back to her home in Outpost L51, Sargasso. Though Clank tells her his story of how he arrived there, she finds it unbelievable and wishes to learn more. As she lands, however, she finds the Morts at their gelatonium factory are under threat, and takes a detour to help them.
Defeating the boss at the end of this mission will unlock the bronze trophy Hide 'N Seekerpede.
Walkthrough[]
Find a Way to Reach the Morts[]
Rivet has the same moveset and equipment as Ratchet. For the start of the mission, follow the waypoint to take a path forward over several swamp islands to reach the gelatonium factory. Along the way, a few horny toads can be encountered, which are dispatched easily with the Burst Pistol or the Enforcer. Mrs. Zurkon is also found early on, and sells a Topiary Sprinkler, a weapon that deploys an automated turret that turns enemies into plants, disabling them so they can be hit with other weapons. If affordable, this weapon is a worthwhile purchase; otherwise, save up for it and prioritize purchasing it later.
Past Ms. Zurkon, Rivet will point to the speetles in front that need to be mounted. Follow the path forward, and several Fendersax wasps as fought. These are flying enemies that can spit poison, and should be defeated with the Burst Pistol or the Negatron Collider. After defeating them, continue through to a cave, where a rift is encountered. Use the Rift Tether to open it and enter pocket dimension 65-31-99. In here, head forward and hit the speetle's nest, then latch onto the speetle.
The speetle has basic controls, as it can only be steered or given a speed boost with . Follow the morts' helper bot, Maynard, through another rift back into Rivet's dimension, then continue to follow it to the morts. At the ramp that appears, a speed boost must be used to garner enough momentum to cross into a cave, where the path ends shortly after. Hop off the speetle before it crashes and progress into the gelatonium factory.
At the factory, Goons-4-Less are fought. These Goons are similar to those fought in the first mission, but their weapons grant them grenade launchers, which have a further firing distance and a fair blast radius on impact. Use the Negatron Collider or Burst Pistol against the flying Goons, while the robomutts and the sword-wielding Goons can be dispatched with the Enforcer. After defeating them, a cutscene commences. This leads off into a second story mission, "Investigate the Dimensional Anomaly", which can be completed now, or the next objective of "Take Clank to Rivet's Hideout" can be completed instead. Ms. Zurkon can be found nearby, and sells a new weapon, the Ricochet, a strong ranged weapon that can be strong against groups of medium enemies; this is a worthwhile purchase, though the Topiary Sprinkler should be priortized.
Head to the Hideout[]
Rivet's hideout is located a few islands away from the morts' gelatonium factory. From the factory, head to the nearest island to the right to find Goons-4-Less battling a grunthor. The grunthor is a very durable enemy that attacks by charging forward and biting, or throwing large rocks. Phantom Dash left or right when it charges or throws its rock, and for now, leave the Goons and allow them to fire on the grunthor. If the Topiary Sprinkler is possessed, it is invaluable in slowing the grunthor down while attacking it with weapons such as the Negatron Collider or Shatterbomb.
After defeating the grunthor and Goons, step on the three switches on the ground to activate a platform that descends and takes Rivet up to a pier. From here, the Rift Tether can be used to a further away pier. Several Goons are fought on the next pier. Use the Shatterbomb to destroy a few of them from range before engaging, then engage them and use a mix of weapons to destroy the enemies that appear thereafter. Once all enemies are defeated, use hammercrank to move the bridge halfway across, and then take the floating platform back down to the previous island.
At the island, hop on the speetle and give it a boost to cross onto the next island, where another grunthor is found along with horny toads. The same strategies apply as before, though it is best to defeat the toads first so they do not distract during the fight against the grunthor. Once enemies are cleared, hop on a speetle to hit the three pressure lock switches, and then follow the path into Rivet's hideout, where a cutscene commences, leading into the next objective.
Rescue Clank from the Seekerpede[]
After the cutscene, Rivet rides a speetle to follow the Seekerpede. Avoid the bombs on the way while following it, and in the open area, make use of ramps as they appear to try and latch onto the Seekerpede's back.
After hitting it, the Seekerpede is fought as a boss. The Seekerpede fires lasers that sweep across the ground towards Rivet, and uses its talons across the platform. The Phantom Dash can dodge the lasers, while the talons should be jumped over. Fire at the Seekerpede with the Negatron Collider or Burst Pistol. The Topiary Sprinkler can also be useful to keep it in place.
When the seekeerpede falls to 50% health, the speetle is used to choice it again. Here, the paths to dodge explosives are narrower, and there are two levels of ramps up to take a ramp that can hop on the Seekerpede's back. The process is otherwise the same as before. The flight that follows is also similar, though it can also fire mines across the field that emit blue energy which must be avoided, and fly over the platform to the other side.
After destroying the Seekerpede, a cutscene commences. In order to conclude this mission and use Rivet's ship, the mission "Investigate the Dimensional Anomaly" must be completed first; use Rift Tethers to close the gap and reach the dimensional anomaly or Rivet's ship. Take her ship to commence a cutscene and travel to Zurkie's for the next mission, "Locate the Part to Repair Clank". The optional mission "Talk to Mort about Trudi" can be attempted on this planet, while the optional mission "Search the Factory" can also be attempted on Corson V.
