Beat Azimuth to the Orvus Chamber! and Stop General Azimuth at all Costs! are missions in A Crack in Time, taking place in the Great Clock. General Alister betrayed Ratchet and Clank at the final moment, battling them to enter the Orvus Chamber and rewind time to undo his past mistake. This forced them to attempt to stop him, knowing the universe was in danger if they did not.

Completing the missions will unlock the bronze trophy 88 MPH.

Walkthrough[]

Alister will periodically shoot bolts at you while he is occupied by Sigmund, but these are easily dodged or deflected. Simply follow the path forwards, dealing with the spinning wheels, teratropes, and the lone turret platform. Alister will be blocked by Sigmund prior to reaching the Orvus Chamber, so there is no real need to rush. Enter it to start a cutscene, completing "Beat Azimuth to the Orvus Chamber" and starting "Stop General Azimuth at all Costs!".

At first, you need to chase Alister across a series of grind rails, dodging his bombs and swapping rails when the path ends. Eventually, you will need to cross a series of lone accelerator ramps with the hoverboots, with Alister further attempting to impede your progress by destroying one of the two pairs of ramps available each time. Prior to entering the Chamber is a save point, and after going inside and viewing a cutscene, the boss fight actually starts.

Alister Azimuth boss fight[]

Alister is a small but highly mobile boss, capable of taking even more damage than Dr. Nefarious. He will use his Praetorian OmniWrench to throw bolts towards you, but can also use it to grab the monitors surrounding the area and throw them at you. Sometimes he will jump and land next to you to execute a melee combo or jump into the air and perform a hyper-strike to create a large shockwave. From time to time, he will use his hoverboots to fly in circles around the edge of the area while throwing clusters of grenades. He can also spin his wrench to deflect fire back (including from the RYNO V); simply avoid firing while he is doing this and wait until he is vulnerable again.

Upon dealing enough damage to decrease his health by half, a short cutscene will take place, after which Alister will fight much harder. The thrown bolts of electricity will be tripled, and he will now also perform comet-strikes which have better range than his melee combos. He will no longer hoverboot around the arena but will now charge them up and dash directly towards you at high speed. Lastly, he can also spin his OmniWrench at high speeds, deflecting projectiles away from him.

All of Alister's attacks can be avoided by strafing and careful timing of side- and backflips. Due to his high health and mobility, it helps to use weapons that attack on their own, do not require accuracy as much, or attack based on proximity, whilst simultaneously not bothering with weaker weapons (in particular those from the early game). Ammo crates are provided relatively frequently, although no nanotech is provided at all.

After the ending cutscene and credits comes the option to either skip back in time or start challenge mode. Skipping back in time allows you to fight the optional boss Lord Vorselon in "Vanquish Lord Vorselon" after completing "Rescue all Zoni." You can also finish exploring the Breegus System for any missed Constructo mods, gold bolts, and skill points, including revisiting all previous areas of the Great Clock.
