Soul Searching is a mission in Tools of Destruction, taking place in Outpost L51 on Sargasso. The Smuggler offered more bolts for any leviathan souls that Ratchet would bring him.
Walkthrough[]
Outpost L51 offers an expansive and vast area that can be efficiently traversed using the Robo-Wings accessed from various launch pads. Within this area, you will encounter a total of sixteen grunthors. Three of these grunthors have already been hunted down for the mission "Trade Souls for the Decryptor", while one is encountered and defeated during the mission "Investigate the Kerchu Outpost". The remaining twelve grunthors are spread throughout the outpost area, sometimes concealed but always visible on your map (
). Make sure to regularly visit the weapons vendor to spend any collected raritanium and upgrade your weapons. You may find several hidden raritanium chests in the area, including some on the backs of troglosaurs.
Just like in previous missions, the Alpha Disruptor, preferably with the More ammo upgrade, proves to be highly effective against grunthors. Other powerful weapons such as the Nano-Swarmers, Buzz Blades, Shard Reaper, and Tornado Launcher are also useful, particularly against roaming kerchu pyroguards, grubsnuckers, and swarms of anthropods. Once you have successfully hunted down all the grunthors and achieved the skill point "Extinction", return to the Smuggler to claim your reward of 108,000 bolts. Afterward, you can proceed to participate in the Imperial Fight Festival for the mission "Return to the Fight Festival".
