The 2016 re-imagined game is primarily an unreliable retelling of events by Qwark.
The re-imagined game primarily describes Captain Qwark's account of events. As Qwark is an unreliable narrator, and contradictory events are in-universe fiction (though those which correspond still apply). Please see Project:Bulletin board/Canon for the wiki's coverage of canon.

Solana Troopers, also known as Galactic Ranger Robots or Police-Bots, were robots which acted as on-foot soldiers for the Galactic Rangers. They acted as police officers for the Solana Galaxy, as well as guards for the Hall of Heroes and Aleero City Penitentiary, and participated in the Holovision show Ranger Workouts.

History[]

Ratchet & Clank re-imagined[]

During the invasion of Aleero City in the movie, Solana troopers engaged the blarg warbots. However, though putting up a good fight, wielding Combusters and Negotiators, the robot troops could not stop the assault and most were destroyed in the battle, though Ratchet and Clank were still able to save the city by destroying the mothership.

In the game, the Solana troopers escorted Shiv Helix to his new cell with Captain Qwark at the Aleero City Penitentiary. The troopers later attempted to prevent Shiv from escaping after he stole one of their Combusters, destroying multiple troopers in the process and hijacking Ratchet's Class-g Star Jumper.

Characteristics[]

Solana Trooper (2016 movie)

Solana troopers in the movie.

The Solana troopers were very similar in appearance to Cronk. They are dark blue in color, with a light blue button on their chests displaying the insignia of the Galactic Rangers. Troopers have a single yellow eye and blue antenna, both of which turn red in times of danger. During battle, they often wield a Combuster, and a Negotiator for higher firepower.

Behind the scenes[]

In the movie, a Solana trooper screamed "Wilhelm!" while witnessing a fellow trooper die after falling from the Hall of Heroes, uttering the famous Wilhelm scream.

The Solana trooper speaking in the opening of the game is voiced by Jeremy Hall.

In Life of Pie, Bruce's appearance after being hit by the Biobliterator is that of a re-colored Solana trooper.

The pre-production designs for the Solana troopers and many characters in the 2016 game and movie were created by Go For Launch Productions.
