Slim Cognito[1] is a character in the 2016 re-imagined game. He is a black market salesman operating in Blackwater City on planet Rilgar. He built the RYNO for Ratchet once he collected all the required holocards.
This version of Slim Cognito is a composite character of the character of the same name as well as the Shady Salesman.
History[]
Ratchet & Clank re-imagined[]
In Captain Qwark's retelling of events, Slim caught the eye of Ratchet at the Blackwater Market after the latter fought through an amoeboid infestation and escaped the sewers. He asked Ratchet if he possessed any RYNO holocards. Since Ratchet was confused, unaware of what a RYNO was, Slim explained that it was a powerful weapon for which Gadgetron had split up the plans and printed on different holocards. He then offered him the opportunity to find the holocards, and granted him a Trespasser to hack doors and find more. In exchange for letting him keep the full holo-plan, Slim offered to build the RYNO for Ratchet if he collected all nine RYNO holocards. When Ratchet did so, Slim was true to his word and assembled the weapon for him.

In challenge mode playthroughs, if Ratchet had already assembled the RYNO, Slim instead spots Ratchet's weapon and assumes him to be a celebrity, offering a Trespasser to Ratchet if he takes a picture with him. After taking the picture, Slim gives him the Trespasser for free, and leaves on his own accords, with Ratchet looking confused.
Characteristics[]
Slim Cognito is a green man who appears to be of the same species as other Rilgar natives. He wears yellow goggles covering his eyes, and a dark purple shirt featuring the RYNO icon. He behaves quite talkative and enthusiastic, and openly identifies himself as a professional criminal, with an agenda to leech off of society and ruin lives.
He is a passionate fan of Lance and Janice, having written his own fan fiction of it, in the hopes of it being picked up and made into an official episode. He was greatly upset when the studio rejected it, but continued writing new stories.
Behind the scenes[]
The Shady Salesman was originally going to be the same character as Slim Cognito in Going Commando.[2]
