Reepor is a location in Tools of Destruction. Located in the Praxus Sector of the Polaris Galaxy, Reepor is the home world of the cragmites and former capital of the Great Cragmite Empire. After the Great War against the lombaxes, the world was left dormant for years, becoming home to the cragmite ruins.
Ratchet and Clank came to Reepor to battle Emperor Tachyon, trying to prevent him from obtaining the Dimensionator and bringing back the cragmites.
History[]
Before Tools of Destruction[]
Planet Reepor was the capital of the Great Cragmite Empire.[1] One of its residents was a cragmite named Bagogg, who returned to Reeper after fleeing planet Toranux. Bagogg led an assault on Toranux with a class-three planet smasher, obliterating the planet,[2] and became legendary in cragmite society, being retold as a children's story, "Bagogg and the Loki".[3]
Following the Great War, Reepor was ravaged and left dormant for years.[4]
At some point before All 4 One, the grove l'arvid, forest dwelling l'arvid, and toxic sludge l'arvid,[5] as well as a number of sepiads and their king, were all abducted from Reepor by Ephemeris.
Tools of Destruction[]
After Ratchet defeated Captain Slag at the Ublik Passage and obtained the Dimensionator from him, Captain Qwark took it. Attempting to prove his credentials as a superhero and "emblazon his name in the annals of galactic history", Qwark took it with him in a shuttle with the intent of throwing it into a black hole, not knowing it would instead fly to Reepor as the nearest available planet.[6]
Ratchet and Clank confronting Tachyon.
In "Search the Cragmite Homeworld", Ratchet came to the planet with Talwyn Apogee, Cronk, and Zephyr backing them up, using a HALO jump to land as Aphelion was unable to find a suitable landing location, dropping them from three kilocubits south of Qwark's pod.[7] In "Secure the Area", the group fought the Imperial Army, while Captain Qwark had been held prisoner. Hearing that Qwark was to be transferred to the inner sanctum, in "Deactivate the Forcefields", the group then aimed to enter the stronghold to find Qwark.[8] Cronk and Zephyr then took control of cannons in the outposts, and in "Infiltrate the Cragmite Base", Ratchet, Clank, and Talwyn entered the inner sanctum. There, they found Tachyon had taken the Dimensionator from Qwark, and Tachyon mocked them before unleashing the cragmites. Ratchet was knocked out after the Dimensionator was used, falling into the caves nearby, while Clank fell further into the ruins.[9]
The Zoni giving Clank another vision.
In "Search for Ratchet", the Zoni came to help Clank return to Ratchet. At the end, they gave Clank a vision of the cragmites' impending attack on Fastoon.[10] Meanwhile, in "Escape the Cragmite Caves", Ratchet fought several cragmites in the caves while returning to the surface. There, after reuniting with Talwyn, he lamented that he should have listened to Clank and destroyed the Dimensionator, before Clank returned. When Aphelion informed them of the attack in Meridian City, Igliak, Ratchet and Clank left to travel to Igliak.[11]
Geography[]
Reepor is a dark planet with oceans of a dark green liquid. Reepor has minimal flora, and most of the planet's soil is black, giving the planet a dark and burned look from orbit.
The cragmite ruins comprises a large stronghold with a forcefield-defended inner sanctum. Outposts nearby have powerful cannons, presumably as outer defenses. The stronghold is surrounded by several waterfalls carrying the dark green liquid seen in the planet's oceans.
Below the cragmite ruins is a network of caves. A few metal tubes run through it and some metal structures are seen around the cave's ceiling, suggesting the caves are partly cragmite-made and connect to the structure above.
Besides the cragmites, Reepor is home to large sea-dwelling predators known as sepiads, packs of which inhabit stormy seas as their natural habitat, and gather food for their king.[12] The planet's wildlife also contains various breeds of l'arvid, which include; the grove l'arvid, forest dwelling l'arvid, and toxic sludge l'arvid.[5] Among its rare flora are carnivorous plants.
