The old training robots rely on melee attacks. Their attacks are very slow, and they will stumble even after they punch, giving ample opportunity for evasion and a counter. However, they are significantly more durable than the [[scuttle crab]]s, and are capable of surrounding Ratchet and attacking him, which can be challenging in enclosed spaces. This requires Ratchet to hit them from a distance before they close in. Strafing and using the [[Lacerator]] may be effective, though the [[Acid Bomb Glove]] can be extremely useful due to their tendency to cluster together. This is also ideal when Ratchet is cornered.

Old training robots[1] are enemies in Size Matters fought in the Jowai Resort, Pokitaru. They are rusty humanoid robots wearing Hawaiian shirts and hats, with an attached spring boxing glove and peg-leg in place of their right limbs, and a built-in meter on their chest. The robots are fought on the path Luna takes Ratchet and Clank through during "Fight some robots", in which they are seen emerging from small huts.
