The Miner, also referred to as the Foreman[1], is a character in Ratchet & Clank, with a cameo in Up Your Arsenal. He is a construction worker on planet Hoven who jammed his drill while attempting to drill raritanium. He is a large, bulky figure, who like many in the Solana Galaxy, is of a species with blue skin and black spikes. He speaks with a thick country accent.

Ratchet and Clank encountered the Miner during "Explore the Icy Wastes". When he asked for some spare parts, Ratchet sarcastically suggested using some of Clank's. The Miner explained that his drill was constantly getting stuck due to the sturdiness of the rock he was trying to drill, which Clank correctly pointed out to be raritanium. Since Ratchet was familiar with the substance, he offered to fix the Miner's drill. Once he did so, the Miner thanked Ratchet by granting him the raritanium, which Ratchet gave to the inventor on Pokitaru in exchange for the Persuader.
The Miner later appeared in Up Your Arsenal, watching the premiere of the Secret Agent Clank film.
Behind the scenes[]
The model for the Miner's drill was originally supposed to be a weapon known as the Revolverator, which was cut from the game and later showcased in the Insomniac Museum in Going Commando.
The Miner does not appear in the 2016 re-imagined game, as Hoven is absent.
