The lombax artifact is an item in Tools of Destruction. It is a decades-old relic of lombax technology that, when activated, displays a star map to the location of the Dimensionator.
Max Apogee discovered the artifact, which became the most notable in his collection of rare, interstellar antiquities. The artifact was kept in the Apogee Space Station until it was raided by space pirates, and held in the treasure room in the pirate base on Ardolis.[1] Years later, when Talwyn Apogee inherited the space station, she traveled to Ardolis with her warbots, Ratchet and Clank to recover the artifact in "Find the Treasure Room".
After the group obtained the artifact, they were unable to activate it. Cronk and Zephyr, despite their claims of great lombax-related knowledge, were unable to activate it themselves and were unaware of its nature, Cronk believing it may be a "zombie death beam". Ratchet was able to activate it by touching it, displaying a star map to Rykan V. Deducing it would be the location of the Dimensionator (known to them as the "Lombax Secret"), the group traveled onto Rykan V.[2]
