Lizard thugs[1] are enemies in Secret Agent Clank. They are Thugs-4-Less inmates of the Prison Planet which ganged up on Ratchet along with other inmates for revenge. As with other enemies, both standard and mega variants of the thugs appeared, the mega variants first appearing in the challenge "Past Due".
Lizard thugs also appeared during "Qwarkography, Ch. 3" on Venantonio, acting as both sea lemurs and sea god cultists.
Characteristics[]
Lizard thugs somewhat resemble the Thugs-4-Less Henchman enemies from Going Commando. Mega variants somewhat resemble the Thugs-4-Less Brutes, but are simply larger versions of the same lizard thugs with reddish skin. Both enemies wear prison outfits, and for weapons wield a plasma gun, a thick spike for melee range, and a molotov cocktail.
During Captain Qwark's opera in "Qwarkography, Ch. 3" they are dressed as sea lemurs, with a striped tail and a large mask, and wield a trident.
Combat[]
The thugs have three means of attack: their plasma gun fires bursts of ranged shots, their sword is used when in close proximity to Ratchet, and their molotov cocktails leave fire that deals damage-over-time and is used in mid-range. The molotov cocktail is the most deadly attack as it can make the area hazardous for Ratchet, while the other attacks are simpler to avoid. Strafing and firing ranged weapons, such as the Dual Lacerators, is the best way to defeat them, though if they home in close, the Walloper is effective.
The mega thugs are a more dangerous threat, and have an additional weapon: they can attack by throwing homing rings at Ratchet, that will keep Ratchet tethered to them so they can guide their fire. The homing ring itself cannot be avoided easily, meaning it is best to defeat them first; when they use this attack, the Walloper can be a great way to dispatch them early, along with other single-target weapons that appear later.
When fought as sea lemurs in "Qwarkography, Ch. 3", they attack with their trident and toss damaging balls of feces.
