The kerchu pyroguard,[1] is an enemy in Tools of Destruction. It is a kerchu riding a threaded vehicle equipped with two arms with twin flamethrowers. Ratchet and Clank first fought them in "Investigate the Kerchu Outpost" im Outpost L51, Sargasso, defending a gelatonium plant. They were later fought in "Fight Your Way into the City" in Kerchu City, Jasindu.
Characteristics[]
The vehicles were yellow in color, and also had twin smoke stacks on the back of them. Their armor resembles Helios armor and their weapons resemble a Pyro Blaster, both of which were devices engineered by kerchu.[2][3] Large blue tanks are seen at the back of each pyroguard, suggesting they did not run on gelatonium.
Combat[]
The pyroguard's flamethrowers can rain down fireballs from long distance, and spew a stream of flame at close range. They are very durable enemies due to their armor, but have slow movement. They are sometimes found around kerchu rollers.
It is best to keep a distance from them and dodge their fireballs, while using long ranged weapons. The Alpha Disruptor and later the Negotiator are very effective against them due both to their range and their strength. While weapons such as the Buzz Blades provide good range, pyroguards' durability means they can take a large amount of damage.
