The jet fighter[2][3] is a vehicle in the Jowai Resort, Pokitaru, in Ratchet & Clank. It is a type of fighter-craft used by tourists at the Jowai Resort[1] and during space combat which was piloted by Ratchet and Clank using the Pilot's Helmet at the request of the Resort Owner to shoot down the blarg waste disposal tankers dumping water into Pokitaru's oceans. They later piloted the jet fighter in the Gemlik Base in the Oltanis orbit while shooting down Qwark's starfighter, and again in Drek's fleet in the Veldin orbit while shooting down the cannons on the ship.
In the 2016 re-imagined game, Ratchet and Clank instead piloted their Class-g Star Jumper for a similar scenario on Pokitaru and in the Deplanetizer.
History[]
The Jowai Resort originally had jet fighters used by the tourists, though this was closed down after a tourist crashed a jet. Due to the Resort Owner not trusting the tourists, and the resort's board of directors not trusting the owner, they fighter was sealed away by a lock.[1] When Ratchet and Clank arrived on the planet searching for an O2 Mask, they found the blarg waste disposal tankers dumping toxic sludge in the oceans, and the Resort Owner offered to give them the final O2 Mask if they helped by destroying them.

In "Help the resort owner", Ratchet and Clank escorted the Resort Owner to the jet fighter, but found it locked. After being frustrated, they were recommended to speak to Bob to open the locks, and Bob sold a Thruster-Pack that could be used to open it. Using the Pilot's Helmet, Ratchet and Clank then piloted the fighter to shoot down the tankers in "Destroy the blarg ships", with blarg saucers defending them, and were granted the O2 Mask.

On the Gemlik Base, Ratchet and Clank encountered Captain Qwark, who piloted a large starfighter. In "Shoot down Captain Qwark", they piloted a jet fighter to take him down, along with several other blarg space fighters accompanying him, eventually shooting him down to Oltanis below. Later, during "Find the coordinates for Drek's laser" on Drek's fleet, Ratchet and Clank found they were unable to pass the cannons firing across their Magne-Strip. They instead piloted a jet fighter to destroy the six cannons, while blarg saucers tried to shoot them down and defend the cannons.
Characteristics[]
Jet fighters are orange jets with a white accent and two green highlights on the ends of their wings. They have long wings, two thrusters on the back, and a cockpit close to the back of the ship. Their wings also contain two small machine guns and a large thruster. Jet fighters fire bullets and rockets, though rockets have limited ammo.
Jet fighters can be piloted only with the Pilot's Helmet found in the Blarg Depot on Gaspar.
Combat[]
Jet fighters are capable of firing machine guns at enemies with unlimited ammunition, and rockets which can be picked up from crates dropped by blarg space fighters and blarg saucers. Crates can also be picked up from destroyed space fighters and saucers to restore their health.
