Difficulty level[]

(Selectable on the main menu when starting a new playthrough.)

Cadet[]

Enemies have been made aware of your trainee status and have agreed to take it easy on you.

Hero[]

An adventure for experienced players whose middle name may or may not be "Danger." (But it probably isn't, because that would be weird.)

Legend[]

For expert players who wear their hats backwards and walk away from explosions in slow-motion. A mode so tough the very mention of it is said to have made a Blargian Snagglebeast shed a single fearful tear — and then shove it back into its eye.

Challenge Mode[]

(Selectable on the main menu after having completed the game.)

Keep all your weapons and replay a harder version of the game to get new weapon upgrades and earn more bolts with the bolt multiplier!

Activating Challenge Mode will start a new story campaign with your full arsenal, items, and progression. You will lose all your gadgets and planet coordinates on starting this new game. Are you sure you want to activate Challenge Mode?

Nebulox Seven[]

Ratchet, Clank, Cronk, and Zephyr are transporting notorious criminal Vendra Prog to the Vartax Detention Facility.

Vendra and Neftin destroyed the Nebulox Seven, along with Cronk and Zephyr! Ratchet and Clank will have to find a way out of the debris field or share the same fate.

With Vendra and Neftin on the run, Ratchet and Clank will need to track them through the Zarkov Sector, a haunted and abandoned system on the edge of Polaris.

Planet Yerek[]

Ratchet and Clank stowed away on a Thugs-4-Less ship and arrived at Planet Yerek. Having broken the news of Cronk and Zephyr's death to Talwyn, Ratchet has vowed to find and capture the Prog twins.

Ratchet and Clank have discovered that a Terachnoid named Pollyx is being forced to work for Vendra and Neftin. They'll need to find him to find out what they're working on.

Pollyx has informed Ratchet and Clank that the Progs are experimenting with dimensional rift technology. They have set up operations behind their old home, the Meero Orphanage.

Vendra and Neftin have built their own Dimensionator and are using it to bring in Nether creatures from another dimension!

Rescued by Captain Qwark, Ratchet and Clank now have access to their ship. They now must travel to planet Silox, where the twins are carrying out the next phase of their secret experiment.

Planet Kragg[]

Ratchet and Clank set off for the Thugs-4-Less battle event, Destructapalooza. They plan to win the featured prize, a GrummelNet jetpack!

Ratchet and Clank head to Destructapalooza where they can win lots of bolts and some big prizes!

Planet Silox[]

Having won the GrummelNet Jetpack at Destructapalooza, Ratchet and Clank travel to planet Silox, where the twins are carrying out the next phase of their secret experiment.

Vendra and Neftin have been conditioning the Silox atmosphere in order to help the Nether Leader cross into their reality. Faced with a new threat from another dimension, Ratchet and Clank race there to stop them.

Ratchet and Clank pinpoint Vendra and Neftin's location at the Sky Train station, but suffer a temporary setback when they realize they lack a critical gadget needed to access the city sewer system.

Ratchet and Clank pinpoint Vendra and Neftin's location at the Sky Train station. Having acquired the GrummelNet jetpack, they now must set off through the city sewer system to find the twins.

Ratchet and Clank have shut down the pumps allowing them to travel through the city sewer system. With a little luck, they'll be able to stop the Progs from bringing in any more Nethers.

Ratchet and Clank have arrived at the Sky Train Station in hopes of confronting the twins and bringing them to justice.

The only way Ratchet and Clank can get to Vendra is through her brother Neftin. He isn't going to make this easy for them.

The Progs are down. Ratchet defeated Neftin, but the Nether Leader betrayed Vendra Prog and trapped her in the Netherverse! Now the only two things capable of stopping the Nethers are lost in another reality, putting the galaxy in great peril.

Planet Thram[]

The only way to stop the Nethers is to get Vendra back. Ratchet and Clank will have to join forces with Neftin in order to save her from the Netherverse.

Planet Igliak[]

Neftin directs Ratchet and Clank to a museum in Meridian City that houses the original Dimensionator. They'll need that device in order to save Vendra and banish the Nethers!

Having acquired the Dimensionator, Ratchet and Clank will have to fight off the Nether army while Neftin and his crew repair the artifact!

Ratchet and Clank will need to fend off the Nether Leader while Neftin and Pollyx fix the only thing that can stop him — the Dimensionator!

Nebulox Seven Prison Ship, Cerulean Sector[]

Wake up Cronk and Zephyr[]

It's time to wake up Vendra Prog. Meet with Cronk and Zephyr so they can take her out of cryosleep.

Go to the Monitoring Station[]

The cryosleep controls are in the Monitoring Station. Get there to wake up Vendra Prog.

Go to the Containment Wing to Secure Vendra Prog[]

The ship's power core has been disrupted. Make sure Vendra Prog is secure.

Reactivate the Proton Field on Vendra's cell[]

The Proton Field that keeps Vendra's powers at bay needs to be reactivated. Locate the rogue battery bots and plug them into the containment cell.

Go to Planet Thram[]

Neftin said he will meet you in the Hagrow Swampland of Planet Thram. Head there so you can find out how to stop the Nether invasion!

Find 10 Gargathon horns[]

The Smuggler is offering to trade a pair of hoverboots for 10 Gargathon horns. Getting those boots should help you find Neftin!

Trade horns for hoverboots[]

Head back to the Smuggler and trade your Gargathon horns for some Hoverboots!

Find Neftin's hideout[]

Now that you've got the hoverboots, you can go further out into the swamp and find Neftin's hideout.

Trade 30 horns for access to the fuel station[]

In addition to paying you a huge bounty, the Smuggler is offering to repair the jetpack fuelling station.

Sell horns to the Smuggler[]

The Smuggler is buying horns, bring him any you find for some bolts!

Find the Smuggler's parrot[]

The Smuggler and his parrot are having a disagreement. Find the wayward bird and help them work out their differences.

Return to the Smuggler to collect the reward[]

You've rescued the Smuggler's bird — return to him for the reward.

Find the 5 keys[]

According to the Smuggler, if you find 5 keys, he may be able to help you open the safe.

Find the Dimensionator[]

The Museum of Intergalactic History houses the original Lombax Dimensionator. Find it and bring back Vendra Prog, the key to stopping the Nethers!

Fight off the Nether Invasion[]

Neftin and Pollyx will need some time to fix the Dimensionator. Keep the Nethers at bay and save Meridian City!

Defeat the Netherbrutes[]

According to Talwyn, a group of elite Netherbrutes are leading the assault on Meridian City. Defeat them and turn the tide of the battle!

Vortex Grenade[]

This dark matter hand grenade creates a ball of negative energy guaranteed to vanquish all foes in its range.

A black-market reality compressor creates black holes that vanquish enemies into oblivion!

Warmonger[]

They said it couldn't be done. They said it was crazy to even try. Well "They", behold the RYNO VII Xtreme, awesome made awesome-er.

Gadgets[]

Omniwrench Millennium 12[]

This handy tool fends off bloodthirsty foes who invade your personal space. It also fixes most household plumbing problems.

Heli-Pack[]

The Heli-Pack allows you to perform a High Jump by jumping from a crouched position. To perform a Long Jump, run, hold R2 and then immediately jump. To Glide, simply press and hold X while in the air.

Clank Light[]

Inventor Big Al had this to say: "It's simple. I used a hyperflux torch light, an anti-gravity core, and patched into Clank's CPU. Voilà! This baby shines a light where you need it and even responds to the command, 'Order Pizza!'"

Grav Tether[]

Pollyx invented this gravity defying gadget to transport its user across bottomless chasms and death pits. Any fear of using it is quickly alleviated by the soothing music it plays. To use the Grav Tether, aim at a Grav Target and press Circle.

Swingshot[]

This energy-based grapnel device is compatible with a broad range of versa-targets.

Hoverboots[]

These Hoverboots are strikingly similar to Ratchet's own Hoverboots, passed down from his father, Kaden. They even smell the same. Hold R2 to use the Hoverboots.

Rift Cracker[]

Pollyx's highly experimental fusion of transdimensional portal technology and robotic systems yielded this upgrade. With it, Clank can find and enter the Netherverse! Safety not guaranteed.

GrummelNet Jetpack[]

This oddly specific Destructapalooza prize turns Clank into a jetpack. Just access an oddly convenient fuelling station and take to the skies!

Nebulox Armor[]

Polaris Defense Troops don this durable armor when on duty aboard the Nebulox prison ship.

Volcanox/Pyronox Armor[]

Ratchet's Volcanox Armor is inspired by Gadgetron's popular Infernox Armor. This lightweight, durable suit is for the fashion-conscious adventurer. Besides granting a 5% damage-reduction, it also all but guarantees “Best-Dressed” awards at high-school reunions.

Thug Armor (LEVEL 1)[]

This mercenary gear is made of Sargassian Troglosaur hide and decreases damage by 20%. Perfect for committing felonies.

Terachnoid Armor (LEVEL 2)[]

Terachnoid Sage Filgram Splendleforg spent so much time being subjected to galactic wedgies that he engineered this special armor. It decreases damage by 35% and, of course, is wedgie-proof.

Nether Armor (LEVEL 3)[]

GrummelNet has noticed you have encountered Nethers, and would love to help! This concept armor is one-of-a-kind and engineered to assist you in the battle against these interdimensional foes. Absorbs 50% damage.

Gold Bolt[]

Gold Bolts can be found throughout the galaxy, and can be used to purchase Omega weapons in Challenge Mode.

Raritanium[]

This rare mineral is accepted by GrummelNet weapon vendors in exchange for weapon upgrades.

RYNO VII Holo-Plan[]

A part of a plan for a new RYNO super-weapon. The Plumber split the plan into pieces to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.

Treasure Mapper[]

This handy device reveals the exact location of hidden treasures in your planet maps!

Weapon upgrades[]

Bolts[]

Increase the amount of bolts you earn using this weapon. Then use it to buy more weapons!

Raritanium[]

Increase the amount of Raritanium you earn using this weapon.

Rate of Fire[]

Fire your weapon faster so you can save the galaxy and be home in time for Lance and Janice.

Range[]

Impress your friends by taking out enemies from a distance. Then question why they're impressed by something so grim.

Damage[]

This makes stuff hurt more.

Blast Radius[]

Supercharging your weapon's output means enemies will just have to learn to run faster.

Ammo[]

Increasing ammo capacity is the leading cause of not dying in 9 out of 10 galactic adventurers.

Ammo Drop[]

Increase amount of ammo picked up from ammo crates.

Kinetic Pulse[]

Your Omniblaster's shots will launch enemies into the air!

Nitroball Count[]

Zurkons will last even longer after deployment.

Proton Blast[]

The Zurkons let their powers combine for a lethal charge shot.

Loyal Protector[]

Getting hit will cause an equipped Netherbeast to counterattack.

Killshot[]

Increase damage on weak point hits.

Chrono Disruptor[]

Aiming causes the time to slow down.

Duration[]

Longer duration means that your weapon keeps working so you don't have to.

Naked Singularity[]

More enemies will be instantly pulled into the black hole.

Mass Expander[]

Increase the number of enemies that can get caught in the vortex.

Tachyon Pulse[]

Each grenade emits damaging energy pulses.

Vortex Cluster[]

Why create one vortex when you can throw multiple?

Shrapnel Cache[]

Increase number of shrapnel shards ejected by upgraded rocket.

Thermal Targeting[]

Rockets will home in on enemies' heat signatures.

Blade Multiplier[]

Blades split into 2 after first bounce.

Reinforced Blades[]

Blades will damage more targets before expiring.

Game Hints[]

  • A good scare will blow up a Bursting Blekko.
  • Tap Triangle to quickly swap to your previous weapon.
  • Hold R2 and press X while running to long jump.
  • Stand still and hold R2 then press X to high jump.
  • Weapon wheel full? Press R1 or L1 to switch pages.
  • Shoot the Gargathon's horns to take them out quicker.
  • Weapons receive a special upgrade upon reaching level 3.
  • Remove Grav Streams by pointing at them and pressing Circle.
  • Upgrade the Temporal Repulsor to LVL 3 for some added kick!
  • Upgrade the Winterizer with raritanium for some holiday gifts!
  • Shoot enemy weak points from a distance with the Plasma Striker.
  • Upgrade the Nightmare Box with raritanium to give it a range attack.
  • Hold X to glide when Clank is falling both vertically and horizontally.
  • Grav Stream energy always flows toward the second point you place.
  • Hold L1 and press X to Grav Leap on to a mag-surface while in zero-g.
  • You can change the difficulty from the Pause Menu under Game Options.
  • Press R1 in the weapons vendor to upgrade your weapons with raritanium!
  • Tap Triangle to quickly swap to your previous weapon to perform weapon combos.
  • The Temporal Repulsor is great for taking out Thug grenades that land near you.
  • Like some risk with your reward? Try an overhead wrench strike while jetpacking.
  • Check your gold bolt and raritanium amounts in the Inventory menu under Items.
  • Beat the game and play Challenge Mode for extreme difficulty and a bolt multiplier!
  • Tee up enemies with the Vortex Grenade, then take them out with a heavy weapon.
  • Fire the Warmonger at the ground near enemy groups to ensure a hit and take them all out!
