Walkthrough[]
The weapons vendor currently offers the Pyro Blaster for sale at a price of 100,000 bolts. The Pyro Blaster is a short-range flamethrower that packs a punch, but has limited effectiveness against the local space pirates for now. It is more advisable to engage corsairs with ranged weapons, and while it may be more effective against buccaneers, it is better to wait until acquiring the Longer range upgrades for the Pyro Blaster to more safely use it. At this time, there are no new items available at the devices and armor vendors.
Follow Clank's suggestion and make use of the Holo-Pirate Disguise to sneak past the pirates and activate the pirate doorkeeper for a minigame. Follow the on-screen instructions, which involve moving the left analog stick in the direction indicated by the dancing pirate, and shaking the controller (or analog stick) to "shake your booty". Each doorkeeper will require more input directions than the previous one. Failing the minigame does not result in any significant penalty except for having to retry. While you can use the pirate disguise to sneak past the space pirates, it is recommended to eliminate them all as they grant experience and bolts.
The buccaneers gathered around the campfire are stronger than those on Ardolis but are otherwise identical. Currently, the most effective weapon to handle smaller groups is the Shard Reaper, while the Buzz Blades are more suitable for taking on corsairs and groups encountered indoors. Proceed through the interior of the pirate ship to reach a bolt crank, which will allow you to access the ship's deck. A pirate operating a turret will be stationed here, and you can conveniently defeat them by shooting the explosive barrels behind them. Dispatch the smaller group of buccaneers that appear afterward and then utilize the nearby grind rail.
Follow the path along the grind rail until you arrive at another campfire where three hardy buccaneers and a pirate operating a turret await. The Nano-Swarmers are highly effective against both enemies, as it can hit the pirate behind the turret, and target the pirates behind their shields when placed behind them. The Buzz Blades serve as a useful secondary choice, as they can ricochet and hit enemies from behind as well. The Tornado Launcher is also a viable option against hardy buccaneers. As you ascend to the next pirate ship, you will be ambushed by a swab that emerges from a crate. Their high health makes them prime targets for the Alpha Disruptor.
Board the ship, defeat the buccaneers guarding the second doorkeeper, and enter the interior (after destroying the explosive barrels). Inside, you will confront a large group of buccaneers, culminating in another encounter with a swab. The close-quarters space makes the Buzz Blades an effective choice for dispatching the buccaneers, although the Tornado Launcher can also be advantageous due to the number of pirates. Ascend the ship using the grav-ramp, being cautious of the cannons, until you reach the ship's deck where you will face a rogue.
To defeat the rogue swiftly, deploy a Nano-Swarmers hive and utilize the Alpha Disruptor followed by the Buzz Blades. After vanquishing the rogue, you will gain access to the pirates' base camp and can proceed to undertake the second mission, "The Battle for the IRIS".
