Hot Heads[1] are enemies in Quest for Booty. They are grenadiers of Angstrom Darkwater's undead pirate crew on Merdegraw. Ratchet and Talwyn Apogee fought them first on Hoolefar Island during "Battle the Undead Pirates", before Ratchet then encountered them at Darkwater Cove during "Fight like a Pirate!", and in the Lythoin Caves during "Escape the Deadly Caves".
The Hot Head pirates and the Skull Walker are both unique to the undead pirates in Quest for Booty and do not have known living counterparts.
Characteristics[]
Hot head pirates have bodies shaped like cannons, which are used to fire their own heads. The heads when fired roll on a ball toward their target to attack. Hot head pirates have some similarity in appearance to Rusty Pete, particularly in the arms and their slender frame.
Combat[]
Hot head pirates attack by moving around and trying to hit Ratchet with their cannon torch, and use it to light the fuse on their back to fire their own heads at him. Multiple of the launched skull heads would roll towards Ratchet and attack independently from the pirate body. When a hot head has launched all the heads they have, the body of the hot head will blindly creep its way towards Ratchet and continue trying to attack him in melee.
The heads are one-hit kills, easily dispatched with the Combuster or Shock Ravager. The hot head pirates' bodies are more durable, similar to that of other pirates, and similarly dealt with by using the Combuster, Fusion Grenade, or Nano-Swarmers.
