The holo-net is a communication medium in the Ratchet & Clank series, its equivalent of the internet. The holo-net is used to share information, videos, and communication. Holo-net services are provided by holo-net relays in space,[1] and browsed by computers using holo-net browsers.[2]
Holo-net dating is a common activity. A hoolefoid was disheartened after learning his holo-net girlfriend broke up with him when Hoolefar Island's supply beacon was restored.[3] Many terachnoids, including Jarvis, had holo-net girlfriends that they did not necessarily meet in person.[4][5] Ratchet was once hired to escort a terachnoid to his valkyrie date, as the two met as members of the same guild in an RLCMMORPG ("ridiculously life consuming massively multiplayer online role-playing game").[6] Beyond terachnoids, the Blazebot gladiator was also said to be trying holo-net dating.[7]
Scandalous videos of celebrities are also uploaded to the holo-net, as at one point, a video of Courtney Gears went viral.[8]
The holo-net also has some known scam websites. Captain Qwark was once contacted by a holo-net website named Faux-Family.com,[9] a site created by Otto Destruct.
Holo-net fanboys were ridiculed in an episode of The Polaris Compendium of Historical Importantness as only having one IQ each.[10]
Holo-net relays were used by security satellites to summon fighters for defense.[11]
