Grungarian bombers,[1] often referred to as just bombers,[2] are aerial enemies in Full Frontal Assault. They are flying gunships used by the grungarian marauders to fire medium-range missiles.

Characteristics[]

Grungarian bombers are armored vehicles propelled by jets on their underside and rear. The craft's wings and jets shift position depending on its direction of movement. Though confined to a planet's atmosphere and deployed by dropships, bombers can fly quite high, but they tend to stay low to the ground during combat. They are slow-moving but heavily armored.

Elite grungarian bombers, encountered in later levels, feature a glass canopy over the cockpit for added protection.

Gameplay[]

Grungarian bombers attack by firing a barrage of missiles at a moderate rate. These missiles can inflict heavy damage on base barriers and generators. As flying units, they are completely immune to all mines.

In the campaign, bombers are encountered in all levels but the Korgon Refinery, with the elite variants appearing in the final level. They appear primarily guarding key nodes and the Planetary Defense Centers, as well as at the ends of the toughest grungarian base invasions. Due to their high health and immunity to mines, standard turrets are often not enough to stop them before they do significant damage, hence it is crucial to engage them directly with any available powerful weapons (ideally the Pyro Blaster). Their advance can also be stalled by making them dance with the Groovitron.

In the multiplayer mode, a neutral bomber appears on the map, inside the temple, guarding a forcefield with a stack of crates.
