The Glide Boots are a gadget in Rift Apart. They are advanced traversal boots equipped with emergency deceleration pads for gliding. The boots are used by both Ratchet and Rivet to allow them to glide over the air similar to the hoverboots in A Crack in Time. The boots are used by the two at various points in the game when in absence of Clank, either when they are alone, or when they are with Kit. When they carry Clank, he will simply use the Heli-Pack.
Holding 
when mid-air will cause Ratchet or Rivet to engage the Glide Boots to glide in the air, when Clank is not present. The Glide Boots have the same gliding capability as Clank's Heli-Pack, meaning the Glide Boots ensure there is no functional gameplay difference when Clank is not present.
