General Glahm is a character in the Ratchet & Clank comic series. An agorian general who led the 118th invasion of Krell Canyon, Lumos, Glahm was thwarted by Ratchet and Alister Azimuth. He was later detained at the Vartax Detention Facility by Artemis Zogg, where he met Ratchet and Clank again. After successfully escaping with them, Glahm fought to defeat Zogg.

History[]

General Glahm fought in the 118th invasion of the vullard settlement of Krell Canyon, which took place in A Crack in Time.[1][a] Ratchet and Alister Azimuth stopped the invasion.

Sometime after, Glahm was imprisoned in the Vartax Detention Facility.[b] There, he was subjected to Jargonian needle torture among other harsh treatments.[4] Glahm had befriended Cronk and Zephyr[c] and worked with them undercover for months, planning an escape via the Sector Nine Low-Security Maintenance Wing, which was used only by custodial staff.[6] Their original plan was to break Glahm out and send word to Talwyn Apogee, but when they discovered Ratchet and Clank were also imprisoned, they decided to break them out as well.[7]

After Glahm met Ratchet and Clank, he staged a fight with them[1] to ensure that both he and Ratchet would be sent to the Sector Nine airlock for execution, as part of his escape plan.[6] Mr. Klink, the warden, took the bait and ordered their execution.[8] Cronk and Zephyr then rescued them on cue,[9] and the group fought off warbots. When Clank rejoined the group, Glahm stayed behind to hold off the advancing warbots, believing Ratchet was their best chance of defeating Zogg.[10]

Glahm later managed to survive and ended up on Veldin via escape pod, where he took control of the Planetary Defense Center, which housed a surface-to-space missile defense system. Delighted to see Ratchet again, Glahm planned to use the missiles to destroy Zogg's ship.[11] Despite Ratchet's pleas that Talwyn Apogee was still aboard the ship and that Zogg was powerless without the Surinox Shard, Glahm refused to take chances and fired the missiles, destroying the ship—though fortunately, Talwyn had escaped beforehand.[3]

Characteristics[]

Glahm is a large agorian with immense physical strength, capable of caving in a warbot's face with a single punch.[12]

Surprisingly for an agorian, Glahm is intelligent, articulate, and cunning. He developed a months-long escape plan by identifying a flaw in the detention facility's security, something Ratchet and Clank themselves could not do.[6] Glahm also speaks in complex sentences[11] and is mostly polite, to the point where even Mr. Klink was surprised when Glahm acted violently toward other prisoners.[8] However, Glahm could also act impulsively, such as when he eagerly fired at Zogg's ship, dismissing Ratchet's warnings and focusing on revenge[a] and saving the universe.[3]

Annotations[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 Prior to this invasion, the agorians had invaded Lumos 117 times as part of their "Humiliate a Weaker Race" initiative, started by Commander Argos ten years earlier.[2]
  2. Glahm's outrage over Zogg destroying the Agorian Battleplex suggests his imprisonment may have been in retaliation for this event.[3]
  3. When Ratchet asked how Glahm knew Cronk and Zephyr, he dodged the question, leaving it ambiguous.[5]
