The Fusion Rifle is a weapon in Deadlocked. It is a long-range sniper rifle manufactured by Vox Industries, first available for purchase upon reaching Kronos from any vendor for 50,000 bolts. With use, it can be upgraded to the Anti-Matter Rifle, which lets bullets pierce through enemies. In challenge mode, it can be upgraded to the Mega Anti-Matter Rifle for 1,500,000 bolts from any vendor.

The Fusion Rifle is a long, gray and blue sniper rifle with yellow highlights. It features a small left eye scope at the back, and unlike other weapons in the series, its grip is on the bottom of the weapon, and not the left-hand side. The Anti-Matter Rifle is identical but its scope is longer and much larger. The Rifle's state of the art magnetic optics scope also uses a patented form of hydrogen fusion for long-range accuracy. Gleeman Vox keeps it nearby at board meetings in case he gets interrupted.[1]

Gameplay[]

Fusion Rifle gameplay

The Fusion Rifle in action.

As with previous sniper rifles in the series, the Fusion Rifle focuses on single-fire shots for heavy damage and with a high range and accuracy. The precision and range is boosted even further with the scope, although the actual increase is minor due to a limit in draw distance. Its direct power output is only rivaled by the Arbiter, but it remains limited by its ammunition and slower rate of fire. Simultaneously, it can only equip the useful Ammo, Speed, and other than the Impact alpha mods; of these, the Ammo and Speed mores are generally useful, while the Impact mod is questionable.

Though the weapon's range and scope seem useful at first, all ranged enemies will accurately shoot back when shot from afar, making it more of a question on whether or not the ranged enemies can either be destroyed first or their return fire easily avoided. Either way, due to the draw distance limitations and most enemies only appearing once Ratchet is close enough, more often than not the Fusion Rifle is used by hip-firing. Its high damage also works well with the Freeze Mod, allowing it to be focused on dangerous targets like Executioners and Laser Backs and temporarily freeze them if need be. The fully upgraded Anti-Matter Rifle's ability to punch through multiple enemies proves useful up close when fired at a group of stronger enemies clustered together.
