Flabberfish are enemies appearing in Octonok Cay and the Polar Sea, featured in All 4 One. These amphibious fish are adapted to survive and hunt outside of water; they move on land by jumping and using their fins and tail to hop towards prey. Flabberfish are dark purple with a distinctive dark blue prehensile jaw and nose structure that curls inwards like a spring.
When attacking prey, even creatures larger than themselves, flabberfish use their prehensile jaw and nose to latch onto the target's head. If a flabberfish grabs a player character, the player cannot attack or use items but can still move around. To dislodge the flabberfish, the player must either move erratically or press the 
button. Notably, being held by a flabberfish does not appear to inflict damage on the player.
Flabberfish employ ambush tactics and attack in swarms to overwhelm their targets. However, they possess low durability and lack significant offensive capabilities, making them a minor threat. Simple weapons fire, such as from the Combuster, is generally sufficient to handle them.
