Find the body of Captain Darkwater is a mission in Quest for Booty, taking place in the Morrow Caverns on Merdegraw. Ratchet needed the Fulcrum Star to operate the Obsidian Eye, but the one in Captain Darkwater's possession was hidden. Rusty Pete believed that there would be a map to the Star on Darkwater's bodily remains, and offered to help them find it.
Walkthrough[]
Follow Talwyn Apogee and Rusty Pete after traveling to Morrow Caverns. Rotate the bolt crank to open a nearby door, which will promptly collapse once Talwyn goes through. The player will be prompted to answer whether or not Ratchet promises to rescue Talwyn at the end; this prompt is pure player preference and has no impact on gameplay or story, as Talwyn can be rescued at the end regardless of the choice.
Wait for Pete to approach the other door and open it with the help of Slag. Keep pace with him until you reach a rail from you can hang, allowing you to shimmy across. On the other side, you can grab a heliogrub to carry with your OmniWrench Millennium 12, which allows you to light up the surrounding darkness and scare away any gore thwogs. Do so by taking the grub along with you into the dark path nearby.
Rotate the nearby second bolt crank to make a bridge across, where you can pick up another heliogrub. Toss it across the gap alongside the nearby rail to scare away the gore thwog flock on the other side, then shimmy across yourself. Climb the ladder and use the next grind rail to reach a third bolt crank, which will extend a bridge and allow Pete to get across, who will open the elevator doors for both of you.
In the next cave, Pete will be attacked by a pythor, a large fire-spitting insectoid-like animal. Avoid it and grab a heliogrub from the right side, behind the crates, then use it to scare away the thwog flock on the other side of the cave. Rotate the bolt crank to open the next gate, which will let Pete flee the pythor and join you. After the cutscene, you must head left, where another pythor appears. Dodge its attacks until it leaves and use the tether to adjust the nearby platforms, allowing you to get across. The pythor will show up two more times, so wait out, adjust the platforms, until you reach the next area.
Here you must grab another heliogrub and carefully walk across a narrow beam until you reach a grind rail. Another pythor will show up halfway, but cannot hit you at this speed. Once you land inside the hold of one of the ships, blow up the nearby explosives and use another heliogrub from a nearby pond to spook the local thwogs, then rotate the bolt crank to ascend to Darkwater's ship's deck. At the front end is a catapult which you must use, but two pythors will flank it and attack you repeatedly. Tether the wrench to the catapult when you can and lower it while dodging the pythors, then use it to reach Darkwater's corpse. Turn the final bolt crank here to commence a cutscene and end the mission, continuing directly into "Escape Morrow Caverns".
