Find the Dimensionator Blueprints is a mission in Rift Apart. After Rivet and Clank got in contact with Ratchet, Clank told Ratchet about a monk named Gary who lived on Savali. Ratchet traveled to Savali's Urfdah Mesah in search of the monk, so that they could build a new Dimensionator. Ratchet also meets Gary's apprentice, a robot named KT-7461.
In addition to this mission, the optional mission "Hunt for Lombax Lore" is also available on the planet. At the same time, the mission "Find Phase Quartz" is available on Blizar Prime.
Completing this mission will unlock the bronze trophy Don't You Walk Away From Me.
Walkthrough[]
Find the Archives[]
After landing on Savali, head past Mrs. Zurkon for a short cutscene when Ratchet meets Gary, then head down to find a Sniper Bot battling several sandsharks. The Sniper Bot targets Ratchet with a red laser, before firing a powerful purple lasers which should be dodged with a Phantom Dash, though an easy way to defeat it is using the Ricochet to hit it before it can lock onto Ratchet. The sandsharks can be delt with using weapons such as the Lightning Rod, and the sandshark nest should be destroyed to stop them spawning.
After climbing the cliffs, several Nefarious Troopers are fought in Monktown. While some use the sweeping lasers, others use gattling gun lasers, firing continuous blue shots that are difficult to dodge. Though Rift Tethers can be used to engage the enemies up close, using ranged weapons such as the Ricochet, Drillhound, or Negatron Collider to shoot them from a distance may be a better way to avoid their firepower.
Once they are defeated, head to the Archives at the end of Monktown for a short cutscene.
Free the Monks[]
Hoverboots are then obtained, and can be engaged at any time using , though speed boosts from repeated
presses are necessary to get the most use from them. The monks must be freed from three temples found in temples dotted around a large, open area (at the center of which, "Hunt for Lombax Lore" can be attempted). Around the area, pockets of sandsharks and Nefarious Troopers are fought.
Free the Monks at the Badlands Temple[]
The Badlands Temple is located on the northwest portion of the map, and is a combat challenge. The monks are located beneath a large structure over the containment field holding them. Several towers surround it, guarded by Nefarious Troopers using maces and gattling guns, as well as a Sniper Bot. Rift Tethers can be used atop each tower.
The Sniper Bot should be destroyed first at a range with a weapon such as the Ricochet before engaging. Upon entering battle, focus on ranged enemies first while hopping between the towers, then destroy the melee enemies next, as they will struggle to keep pace with Ratchet hopping between towers. When more Sniper Bots and flying enemies arrive, focus on these first before clearing out the rest. Once KT-7461 mentions all enemies are defeated, drop down and access the terminal.
Free the Monks at the Mountain Temple[]
The Mountain Temple is located on the southeast portion of the map, and is a hoverboot challenge. It is located across a bridge leading to a moutain. After crossing the bridge and speaking to Gary, follow a series of hoverboots tracks that must be traversed as quickly as possible within the time limit. For these, bridges will appear a few seconds after standing on a button, and must be crossed quickly before they collapse. Do not move past the trial's beginning switch until the bridge appears.
Past the second trial, sandsharks and an alien snapper are fought; the snapper is a medium-sized ranged enemy that spits acid, and can be beaten with the Ricochet and Negatron Collider from range, though using the Lightning Rod or the Enforcer are effective in dealing with all enemies here. After completing the trials, the temple is reached, but guarded by three Sniper Bots. As before, using the Ricochet is effective in destroying some before they lock onto Ratchet, though the broken pillars around the temple can also be used as cover. When the enemies are defeated, a challenge with Glitch begins.
The Glitch challenge is fairly straightforward and similar to the first, though there are some hanging lasers that will lock on with a yellow beam and fire at Glitch. These should be destroyed with the Electro Guns as a priority, and walls can be used as cover if necessary. The Virus nests, and some of the hanging lasers, are also often guarded by forcefields, meaning Glitch must step on a button found by following a purple wire connecting to the forcefield (sometimes found on the walls) before destroying the nests. When a large group of Viruses appear, climb one of the walls to evade them and fire at the from a safe distance. An Electro-Gun upgrade can also be found by stepping an upgrader pad near the second nest.
Once the challenge is complete, use the grind rail to return to the Badlands.
Free the Monks at the Primeval Forest Temple[]
The Primeval Forest Temple is located on the eastern end of the map, and is primarily a combat challenge. Upon arriving, several Nefarious Troopers, small and medium-sized, are found, and should be cleared with (a good technique is to use the Lightning Rod, Topiary Sprinkler, and Mr. Fungi).
Past the first group of enemies is a more deadly group including Nefarious Juggernaut, troopers that use maces as weapons, and two troopers using lasers. Strategies against the Juggernaut are the same as those fought on Nefarious City, though it is important to defeat the troopers first as a priority to make the Juggernaut easier to handle. The Topiary Sprinkler can also help slow the enemies down should they become overwhelming, and weapons with a strong area-of-effect should be used to deal with the cluster of foes.
After the enemies are defeated, interact with the terminal, and KT-7461 needs to be protected while opening the forcefield. Waves of troopers appear, including small ones, ones with gattling guns, lasers, and maces. Using ranged weapons such as the Negatron Collider and Ricochet are helpful to prevent them getting close, while the Lightning Rod can deal with clusters of small troopers. After they are cleared, the Nefarious dropship itself will attack Ratchet, firing large blue energy blasts at him. Once again, ranged weapons must be used to destroy the dropship, while using Phantom Dashes to dodge its blasts. After it is destroyed, the monks are freed.
Access the Vault of Knowledge in the Archives[]
After the monks at all temples are saved, Ratchet is returned to Monktown immediately through a rift. Once Gary opens the portal, use the hoverboots through the track at full speed and maintain momentum, until the track ends at the giant mech on which the archives are located. Leap off the track, perform a jump in the air just as Ratchet begins to fall, then Rift Tether to get onto the mech.
Once atop the mech and in the archives, a swarm Nefarious Troopers appear, and should be defeated first with the usual methods. Head to the back of the archives to find a boltcrank; turn it to activate the Helix Generator, then jump on the spring to the upper level.
On the top level, two Invasion Commanders appear. These are large, flying torso enemies with movesets identical to the Nefarious Juggernauts, but are slightly more armored. As such, the strategy against them is the same: engage them from a distance, avoid their lasers with Phantom Dash or by jumping over them, run back when they leap towards Ratchet, and use the Topiary Sprinkler to slow them when needed. Take out one at a time to make the battle easier. After the first is destroyed, the second will summon troopers for support, which should be destroyed first as a priority method (using area-of-effect weapons such as the Enforcer is also helpful in shooting both them and the Invasion Commander).
Use the boltcrank here when all enemies are defeated to power the generator, then run inside the rift at the top of the archives for a cutscene, following which Ratchet returns to his ship. This unlocks the mission "Forge the Dimensionator" on planet Cordelion. Before leaving, "Hunt the Lombax Lore" can be completed before leaving this planet, and the Void Repulser becomes availale at Ms. Zurkon. The Void Repuslor creates a forcefield that can also explode and be used as a weapon, making it a very valuable purchase if affordable.
