Find Tachyon is a mission in Tools of Destruction, taking place in the lombax ruins on Fastoon. Emperor Tachyon taunted Ratchet directly with what happened to the lombaxes, prompting him to find him in the Court of Azimuth if he wanted answers.
Walkthrough[]
Ascend up the nearby grav-ramp, fighting a single cragmite warrior halfway through, until you reach Cronk and Zephyr amidst a room with three vendors. Step into the large red button to open the door and enter the next area, wherein you must defeat three cragmite hunters to be able to access a Decryptor port. After clearing the hack (you need to lead the second spark all the way around the board), proceed into the Court area proper to engage with three hunters guarding a set of tri-pads. Ignore the pads for now and instead defeat the hunters, which are followed up by two more alongside a warrior.
After the enemies are defeated activate the tri-pads and turn the bolt crank, then approach the forcefield in the corner to take down the cragmites last stand; consisting of several hunters and warriors. With these defeated you can lower the forcefield, which counts as completing the mission "Find Tachyon".
If you follow Talwyn and her warbots into the Court of Azimuth you will start a cutscene and have to fight against Tachyon. However, before doing so it is recommended to find the final holo-plan piece on Fastoon, and collect any other remaining pieces on other locations, and visit the Smuggler on Sargasso to acquire the RYNO IV. The RYNO IV offers a very high power rapid fire laser cannon that can target multiple foes from afar, and can make quick work of the final boss.
Emperor Tachyon boss fight[]

The boss fight.
Tachyon will start by only firing with the smaller lasers from his walker's hands, which can be easily dodged while strafing. He will continuously spawn small droids that will chase you and explode after a short moment. The droids are slightly faster than Ratchet, but do not take a lot of damage to be preemptively destroyed. For now stick to weapons like the Incinerator, Doom Blades, Mag-Net Launcher, and Toxic Swarmers; keeping the stronger weapons in reserve. Once Tachyon loses around 20% of his health another cutscene will play, followed by a change in locale.
In the next phase there is no need to hold back anymore. He will primarily attack by grabbing any of the floating rocks, heating them up, and throwing them at where you are heading, rather than where you are. He will also spawn more droids, and phase shift to jump elsewhere, generating a tall shockwave once he lands. From time to time he will also use his strongest attack; generating a massive swarm of missiles, while simultaneously attacking you with a laser beam. The missiles will impact in your vicinity, and explode a short second later, whereas the laser will rapidly move at your position, although it is much slower to turn around once it misses.
The weapons that deal the most damage against Tachyon are the RYNO IV, Alpha Cannon, and Negotiator (Judicator, ideally). The RYNO IV on its own can make quick work of Tachyon, but if not possessed, the Toxic Swarmers, Mag-Net Launcher, and Mr. Zurkon are good weapons to use as support. Remaining weapons, such as the Tempest Launcher, Nitro Reaper, and Raptor Launcher, are unnecessary as they cannot deal enough damage to be useful; there are enough respawning ammo crates on the platform's edges to avoid needing to resort to weaker weapons, and one can simply refill the RYNO IV and use no other weapons. Nanotech crates appear in the second area if the player dies at least once during the fight.
After Tachyon's defeat you are greeted with the final cutscene. After the credits, you have the option of either warping back to before entering the Court of Azimuth, or to enter challenge mode. Time warping will allow you to obtain any skill points and gold bolts you have missed, although you can also re-attempt these in challenge mode.
