Explore the Festival and Trail of Turning Terror are missions in Tools of Destruction, taking place in the festival grounds on planet Mukow. After landing Ratchet and Clank had to go and find Qwark, but also explored the festival area.

Walkthrough[]

Explore the Festival[]

If you haven't spent the bolts you earned from Fastoon yet, you can now purchase the Blackstar armor from the armor vendor located after leaving the landing area. Alternatively, you can visit the weapons vendor (to the right of the fountain) and acquire the new Shard Reaper for 35,000 bolts, or the Tornado Launcher if you have not yet. The Shard Reaper is a simple but effective and strong shotgun, while the Tornado Launcher is a unique weapon that requires you to control a tornado with the Sixaxis, allowing you to steer both the tornado and Ratchet simultaneously. It proves effective against groups of enemies, but can be cumbersome to use.

The objective of this mission is to find all six Tachyon statues scattered around the festival area, which is only occupied by weak tesladrones. The first statue is located in front of the Tachyon broadcast screen next to the weapons vendor, and the second one can be found atop the fountain. The third statue is amidst the plants behind the fountain. To find the fourth statue, head to a small island beyond the fountain, with the row of explosive crates. The fifth statue is near the entrance to the Trail of Turning Terror (with the island at your back, look to the right of the fountain), and requires timing to avoid the fire-spewing statue. Finally, climb the side of the gate closest to the Trail area to find the sixth statue.

Once you've collected all the statues, you can enter the Trail of Turning Terror and proceed with the mission of the same name.

Trail of Turning Terror[]

The first part of the Trail requires you to avoid sawblades while passing through a rotating cylinder. The Gravity Boots can somewhat assist you, but you can actually walk straight through most of it. Afterward, use the Swingshot to reach the Ferris wheel. Climb onto one of the platforms, and as you reach the right side, quickly jump off to open all the raritanium chests, crates, and acquire another holo-plan. Return to the wheel, and jump between the platforms of the inner and outer rings to evade the energy walls.

Once you've traveled all the way around the wheel, jump off on the left side to continue along the Trail. Use the Swingshot again to reach the next island, where you'll encounter a Hug-Me-Tight Nanny Bot accompanied by a few tesladrones. The Nanny Bot is powerful but slow, with only melee attacks. The two drophyd troopers atop the platform should also be relatively easy to deal with at this stage. The final part of the Trail is another rotating cylinder located directly behind the troopers, which is longer and more dangerous. The glass walls require you to utilize the Gravity Boots to walk around more, but the threats remain fairly stationary, albeit more numerous.

Upon exiting, you'll acquire the Charge Boots, which provide a convenient way to quickly cross large distances. Return to the main festival grounds and proceed to the gate across from the weapons vendor to begin the mission path for "Find Qwark".
