Drophyd Defenders were the Drophyd army's elite. They had black robot armor that was more resistant than that of the Drophyd Troopers' and the Drophyd Sentries' armor. They were also equipped with shields, which were capable of repelling some attacks. They also underwent armor upgrades like the other drophyd units as the game progressed.
