Drek's fleet is a location in Ratchet & Clank. It is the blarg warship fleet commanded by Chairman Drek, used as his base of operations. It consists of six large warships: the water tanker, the missile cruiser, the dreadnought, the light cruiser, Drek's flagship, and an unknown vessel. Ratchet and Clank infiltrated the fleet when it was in the Veldin orbit, before Drek invaded Veldin with the Deplanetizer.

History[]

You really are an idiot.

Chairman Drek and Captain Qwark inside the water tanker.

Ratchet and Clank received coordinates for the water tanker in Drek's fleet on planet Quartu from an infobot released by Clank's mother, which told them that Drek's fleet was in the Veldin orbit. Infuriated, Ratchet went at once to stop the fleet. The two infiltrated using the Hologuise to sneak past several sentry-bots to reach the teleporters to take them to the next ship, and once they reached Drek's flagship, made use of a jet fighter to destroy the defenses on the water tanker's hull, which allowed him to travel across Drek's flagship with Magneboots to reach the control room. Once they arrived, they found that Drek had vacated the flagship, and were left only with an infobot with a broadcast about Drek's impending use of the Deplanetizer on Veldin below. The two were also able to swim through the water tanker to find a CodeBot.

Drek's fleet 1

The interior of the Water tanker.

The first ship Ratchet and Clank arrive in is the water tanker, where Drek ordered Captain Qwark to use a space shuttle to travel to the Gemlik Base. This ship carries water to be used for Drek's new planet,[1] and the ship's water reserves are filled with traps that include mines and lasers. Ratchet could travel through these traps by pressing a button that would open the underwater doors and deactivate the electric security system, but trigger a countdown before it was reactivated. Ratchet could swim through it and find the CodeBot.

The initial landing site from within the vessel is on a circular platform surrounded by a pool of water. Stemming from this platform is a smaller platform with a teleporter that leads to the missile cruiser. The water tanker is the vessel that would tow Drek's planet into place, constantly beaming two large, blue beams of light onto Drek's planet, creating a purplish, whirly effect on the planet. It is shown to be the largest vessel in Drek's fleet.

The water tanker also has two rooms, one of which is darker and contains a gold bolt and a button to deactivate the electricity in the water. The other room, which is the final room, is larger, with several large windows. To the right is a doorway leading to a shuttle that returns to the landing site. Placed along the bottom of the vessel were large turrets that would fire continuously. These prevented Ratchet and Clank from venturing further through Drek's flagship.

Missile cruiser[]

The missile cruiser is a small battleship that is easily accessed from the water tanker. When Ratchet and Clank explored it, they merely found a corridor containing sentry-bots and robomutts. The door in the initial room opens up to a larger one with another door opening up yet another one. This door opens up to another large room, featuring laser barriers at both doorways. In the final room is nothing but a teleporter that would lead to the dreadnought.

Dreadnought[]

The first door opens up to a plain hallway with three doors, the first and third being placed on the right, and the second being on the left. Three laser barriers were initially placed between each doorway, along with security buttons. These doors reveal nothing but empty rooms, which sentry-bots would walk in and out of repeatedly. The door ahead leads to a room with more doors revealing just empty rooms, which again sentry-bots would hide inside. The next door reveals another doorway, and past it is a semi-circular room with several large, square windows and a teleporter that leads to the light cruiser.

Light cruiser[]

Located at the start of the vessel is a dome-shaped room with a versa-target, followed by a floorless hall with several vertical lasers placed over a pool of green acid. What follows up ahead is a larger room with a door up ahead leading to yet another room with more doors to empty rooms, which unlike the ones on the dreadnought, were not occupied by any sentry-bots. The door ahead opens to a narrow, but long hallway leading to the final room, which contains a long, circular desk with a large variety of buttons and switches. Placed just in the center of it is a teleporter that leads to Drek's flagship.

Drek's flagship[]

Drek's fleet 4

The flagship's control room.

Drek's flagship contains the control room from which Drek gave orders. When Ratchet and Clank reached this room, they had to walk on the ceiling and exterior of the ship using the Magneboots and O2 Mask. The water tanker's turrets here also prevented the duo from progressing further, meaning they had to acquire a jet fighter to destroy its turrets before reaching the control room.

The teleporter from the light cruiser leads to a large room featuring two exits. The one straight ahead serving as an exit from a secret passage. The one on the right leads outside to an elevator with a magnetic surface. Upon pressing its switch, it will flip over to connect to a magnetic shaft underneath the ship. It is here that one can get a clear view of Veldin directly above, which is actually located beneath the entire fleet. Said shaft leads across to another magnetic elevator placed off to the left, which leads to a hangar containing a jet fighter.

Following the shaft further, one is led to another magnetic elevator that slowly drops down through an open doorway with a forcefield that blocks off the exterior, allowing one to breathe inside the vessel. The elevator connects to a magnetic shaft placed above the room, which also features moving lasers and two doorways. The extra doorway placed from the entry point leads into a secret room, with on the other side a path back to the starting room, which connects to a series of passages, ending at the control room. It has a control panel that features a variety of buttons, placed just before it is Drek's chair, with several large screens and monitors placed along the outer edge near the windows.

Unknown vessel[]

Back so soon?

Qwark and Drek in the interior of the sixth ship.

The sixth, unknown vessel is visible from space but not accessible to Ratchet or Clank. The vessel is small, and its main body is shaped roughly analogous to a leech with two massive engine pylons connected to its sides. It contains the room that appears in cutscenes with Drek on his ship, such as cutscenes when Drek had meetings with the Novalis chairman, Qwark, and the blarg elite commandos.
