Don Wonderstar, also known as simply Skid's Agent, is a character in Ratchet & Clank and its 2016 re-imagined game, with a cameo in Up Your Arsenal. He is the agent of professional hoverboarder Skidd McMarx. He, alongside Skidd, crash landed on Aridia. Don Wonderstar has a selfish personality, being motivated solely by profiteering, caring little for his clients as people and viewing them instead as a lucrative business opportunity. When Ratchet and Clank rescued him, he began to evaluate if they were a viable replacement for Skidd.

History

Ratchet & Clank

After Skidd's ship, the Solarship Radical, crashed on planet Aridia, Don Wonderstar and Skidd were separated, leaving him stranded on the backwater planet. Wonderstar believed that Skidd was done for, and gave up on him.

When he met Ratchet and Clank after "Find Skid's agent", he believed Ratchet to be an "athletic kid" and offered to be his agent if he won the hoverboard race in Blackwater City on Rilgar. After Ratchet returned with the prize, a Platinum Zoomerator, Wonderstar gave him the Sonic Summoner.

Re-imagined

The 2016 re-imagined game is primarily an unreliable retelling of events by Qwark.

The re-imagined game primarily describes Captain Qwark's account of events. As Qwark is an unreliable narrator, and contradictory events are in-universe fiction (though those which correspond still apply). Please see Project:Bulletin board/Canon for the wiki's coverage of canon.

In Captain Qwark's retelling of events, Skidd instead owned a McMarx Sports Shack on Aridia, meaning Don Wonderstar was already present. After Skidd accidentally revealed secret blarg schematics for a hydroharvester, the blarg attacked, and Skidd was separated from Wonderstar on another side of the Sports Shack.

Don reunited with Skidd.

When Ratchet and Clank rescued him, Wonderstar viewed the two as a potential business opportunity, and barely even paid attention to their names, getting them wrong several times. After Ratchet and Clank cleared the sandsharks and allowed Skidd to return to his ship, Wonderstar was reunited with Skidd. The two prepared to take a ship off the planet, Wonderstar scolded Skidd for wishing to visit the hospital about a leg injury, as his sponsors would be unhappy. Therefore, Wonderstar allowed Ratchet and Clank to compete in his place.
