The Desert Riders are a hoverbike gang in Going Commando. They are a gang of hoverbike racers and the number one leisure choice of the Thugs-4-Less,[2] based in the Vukovar Canyon, Barlow. Members of the Desert Riders all possess a biker helmet and a membership card, and are allowed to participate in the Megacorp Games. Desert Riders all use Megacorp hoverbikes.[2]
Ratchet and Clank's encounter with Biker One.
Ratchet was introduced to the Desert Riders by Qwark, posing as Abercrombie Fizzwidget, after disabling the Thugs-4-Less jamming array near the Maktar Resort. He proposed that Ratchet join the Desert Riders so as to infiltrate the Thugs-4-Less. In "Find the Desert Riders", Ratchet, along with Clank, successfully found Biker One, the leader of the Desert Riders,[1] who was initially hostile to them until he bonded with Clank. The two competed in a race, and after winning, won a biker helmet. Biker One also gave them a telescreen informing them about the Thugs-4-Less company picnic in the Feltzin System. Later, on Joba, Ratchet and Clank met another member, Biker Two, for "Win the Megacorp Hoverbike Race". Biker Two allowed them to participate as they possessed the helmet and begrudgingly awarded them the Charge Boots for winning the first race.
In Deadlocked, Juanita Alvaro of Vox News tied the Desert Riders to Ratchet for participating in "illegal hoverbike gangs", excluding any context. A doctored image was used for this report, as it depicted Ratchet in his Marauder armor.
