In the singleplayer of Deadlocked skins are purchased with Glamour Stars[1], a currency earned by completing challenges. Each challenge awarded a minimum of one to a maximum of five stars, depending on the selected difficulty upon starting a new game. To obtain all skins one must finish a playthrough on 'Exterminator' difficulty, which is unlocked by defeating Gleeman Vox. Some skins are also available for free or otherwise unlocked through other means than spending glamour stars.

As a first, in the series, several of the skins are in fact based on actual DreadZone contestants or other popular characters, featuring short backstories. As with Up Your Arsenal there are several skins that were only available in the Japanese version of the game. The game files also include a cut skin of Ratchet wearing clothing that made him resemble Clank.

Unlike the previous series, armor in Deadlocked is purely visual in appearance and holds no gameplay mechanic such as damage reduction. Each armor is equipable in the skins menu and is unlocked after completing the respective tournament of the same name. All armors are in fact mere visual reskins of each other as well.

Two secret skins, Eugene and the Renegade armor, were unlocked by completing Ratchet & Clank: Going Mobile for use in multiplayer.

Al's reputation furthered when troops witnessed a heated battle between Al and an angry beverage machine. And the time he removed both shoes while eating a sandwich. And no one could forget the time Al survived a brutal attack from a rival faction known as the Qwark Core Cadets. DreadZone Test Bots[]

Deadlocked epilogue 4

DreadZone Test Bots

DreadZone Test Bots: The two DreadZone test robots were unaccustomed to the safety of life outside the Shadow Sector. After an incident with a space freighter and a wrecking ball, the robots were exiled to the outskirts of a distant asteroid belt. Trying to find their place in society, the two opened a small shop specializing in highly destructive contraptions and volatile substances. Business was slow until they began receiving endless orders from a new reality holo-vision show. The two bots were catapulted to the top of the "People Who Have Way More Money than You" list from the popular gossip magazine "Questionable Data." They were removed from the list shortly after, when it was discovered that they weren't actually "people."
