Deactivate the Containment Grid is a mission in A Crack in Time, taking place in the Tombli Outpost on planet Zanifar. Ratchet, on a mission to travel to the past, encountered a group of captive fongoids trapped in a containment grid by Dr. Nefarious, who asked him to free them.

Walkthrough[]

A large force of Nefarious Troopers awaits you behind the containment grid. Use the Plasma Striker to snipe the two Cyclobombers on the elevated platforms in the back to avoid their bombardments. Next, target the Arc Striker, then approach the center to trigger the arrival of several dropships, which spawn Splitterbots and Protoguards.

As you approach the gate at the end, two Protomantises and a few Microdrones will arrive. Use the Groovitron Glove or the CryoMine Glove to disable the Protomantises and defeat them with ease. Proceed through the gate to meet an escaped Fongoid Farmer, who asks you to remove some voltan ivy. Equip the OmniSoaker (with Left on the D-pad) and suck up nearby water to hydrate the nearby hydroplants. Capture the Zoni flying around as well.

Use the hydroplants to reach the plateau with the tetramite nest and a Breegus worm root. Use the Breegus nectar from the latter to distract the tetramites while you use the bolt crank to extend the bridge, then use the nectar on the ivy and wait for the tetramites to make it retreat. Follow the farmer and use the large vine next to him as a grind rail.

This leads to a lone platform from where you can use a hover bolt and a series of kick and spring pads to reach the entrance to the security station, dealing with a few Protoguards along the way. At the entrance, you can find another Zoni. The entrance requires a Nefarious Security Card, which can be acquired by completing "Save Qwark from the Agorians" at the Agorian Battleplex if not already complete. Use it to enter the station, defeating the final Splitterbot and Protomantis guards inside before deactivating the containment grid.

This will allow access to the Time Portal, allowing you to continue with "Travel to the Past".
