Cleaner bots,[1] also known as Rift-Jumper Minions, are enemies featured in All 4 One and Full Frontal Assault. They typically appearing as limbless robots with miniature rotor blades or sweepers beneath them, along with two antennae on top. When hostile, they deploy scythe-like arms for melee combat.
History[]
In All 4 One, cleaner bots are the smallest type of collector minions and are initially used for maintenance purposes and appear non-hostile while Ratchet, Clank, Qwark, and Dr. Nefarious are still undergoing training in the Minion Training Center. During this time, one cleaner bot's destruction prompted a remark from the Steward, who noted that the bot was named Carl.[2] After the group's escape, cleaner bots are encountered as enemies across various locations on Magnus.
In Full Frontal Assault, a few rogue cleaner bots turned hostile in the Starship Phoenix II and attacked the crew, under unknown circumstances.[3][a]
Gameplay[]
All 4 One[]
Living up to their "Rift-Jumper" designation, cleaner bots are deployed through teleportation, typically arriving in large swarms. Despite their numbers, they pose a minimal threat due to their reliance on melee attacks and low durability.
In early encounters, basic melee attacks and weapons like the Combuster or Plasmabomb Launcher are sufficient to dispatch them. Later in the game, specialized crowd-control weapons such as the Pyro Blaster, Darkstar Fission Tether, or Thundersmack prove especially effective when facing large swarms.
Full Frontal Assault[]
Rogue cleaner bots appear at the start of the game after turning rogue. Because no weapons are available, only melee attacks can be used to defeat them. However, they deal minimal damage and pose little threat to the player.
