Capture the Flag -

  • Normal Mode - You must have the possession of your own flag in order to score a Cap.
  • Chaos Mode - Score a Cap regardless of whether your own flag is at your base.

Capture the Flag - Locate and capture the opposing team's flag in this team-based Online Game Mode. Once a flag is obtained, return with it to your base to snag the score.

Capture the Flag (CTF) is a multiplayer mode in Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, Ratchet: Deadlocked and Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters. The first player or team that reaches the CTF Cap limit wins the game. In Up Your Arsenal, there are two different CTF modes. Normal mode resembles the typical online capture the flag game while Chaos mode allowed players to capture the flag whether or not the opposing team had their team's flag. They could also play Capture the Flag with nodes on in Up Your Arsenal. The same rules applied in Deadlocked for Capture the Flag except "Chaos" mode is called "Crazy" mode. In Size Matters, players can capture the flag despite the fact that the other team holds their team's flag.

Normal mode (Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal and Ratchet: Deadlocked)

In a regular Capture the Flag game, players will attempt to take each other's flags located near fixed locations corresponding their spawn points and take them to their base where they gain a point. Once you take the flag, you have to hold it and return to your base quickly to gain a point. When holding the flag, you are not allowed to use your weapons beside the flag itself, and attempting to use a vehicle will most likely put you in the gunner's position instead. However, the flag can be used as a melee weapon similar to the OmniWrench. Killing an enemy player who is holding the flag will drop it, in which it can be returned to your base.

Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters

Capture the Flag inSize Matters more likely resembles the gamemode seen in the other two games; what is different, however, is your team has the other team's flag which applies to the other team as well (i.e. red team having blue team's flag and blue team having red team's flag). Also, you are allowed to use weapons while carrying the flag since it is placed on the player's back.

  • In Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, there is a glitch that allows players to stay alive with the flag in their possession after the health meter reached 0. In order to perform the glitch, the player has to hold R2 and jump repeatedly. To counter that glitch, you have to hit them again at which they die.
