Breach the Security Barrier, Defeat the Imperial Forces, and Destroy the Artillery Turrets are missions in Tools of Destruction, taking place near the lava refineries on Rykan V. After they managed to steal the lombax artifact from the space pirates on Ardolis they used coordinates gained from the device to track a specific location on Rykan V, where they are intercepted by Emperor Tachyon's local forces.

Walkthrough[]

Breach the Security Barrier[]

Upon your arrival on Rykan V, commence a HALO jump in the company of Cronk and Zephyr. Although Cronk and Zephyr are invulnerable, they are not significantly strong, only eliminating enemies slowly after sustained gunfire. They also serve as effective distractions, which proves advantageous considering the impending large number of adversaries.

As you touch down, prepare for an immediate attack by tesladrones. Dispatch them effortlessly using the Shock Ravager and Shard Reaper. These drones are accompanied by a sizable contingent of drophyd troopers—three on the right and six on the left. It is important to note that all drophyd forces have received a power boost, as indicated by their newly acquired armor.

The subsequent wave features two Tachyon transport ships that spawn a substantial number of tesladrones, reinforced by three gunships. Engage the former with the Ravager and Reaper, while the Predator Launcher proves effective against the latter. If necessary, deploy Nano-Swarmers or rely on the Buzz Blades to decimate the drophyds. These weapons will also prove valuable against the next wave, consisting of shielded troopers accompanied by gunships, followed by an even larger group of shielded and flying troopers. The Tornado Launcher emerges as the optimal choice for vanquishing this final wave, particularly if you have acquired a full suite of raritanium upgrades.

Once all drophyds have been eliminated, proceed to the gate to enter the next area and initiate the mission "Defeat the Imperial Forces".

Defeat the Imperial Forces[]

The weapon vendor will not offer any new items for sale; however, it remains crucial for refilling nanotech, restocking ammunition, and acquiring powerful upgrades for your most essential weapons. While the Nano-Swarmers and Buzz Blades should prove formidable enough, it is recommended to upgrade any other weapons to avoid falling behind. Follow Cronk and Zephyr as you engage four troopers and two drophyd cyclocannons. Swiftly destroy the cyclocannons to prevent being overwhelmed by their combined attacks. A vast fleet of gunships will subsequently arrive, dispersing throughout the area along the lava side. Maintain mobility and employ the Raptor Launcher, Nano-Swarmers, and Buzz Blades to eliminate them all.

Their defeat will trigger an unrelenting onslaught of regular troopers, flying troopers, another wave of gunships, and finally shielded troopers arriving via transport ships. Given the sheer number of enemies and minimal opportunities for respite, it may be necessary to deploy devices such as the Groovitron to momentarily regain composure. If overwhelmed, utilizing V5 weapons like the Fusion Bomb and Plasma Stalker may also prove indispensable. The mission concludes once the artillery turrets become operational, immediately transitioning into "Destroy the Artillery Turrets".

Destroy the Artillery Turrets[]

The turrets will twice receive reinforcements from two transport ships, each deploying a trio of troopers. At this stage, disposing of them should prove relatively easy. The turrets themselves consist of four massive cannons embedded within the wall. They can only be damaged while actively firing at you. Only two turrets will attack at any given time, while the other two remain inactive. It is crucial to maintain constant strafing and utilize cover as needed. Employ your remaining Nano-Swarmers and target the vulnerable turrets with the Predator Launcher or Buzz Blades until the mission is successfully completed.

Subsequently, utilize the elevator platform to gain access to the local spaceport and embark on the mission "Explore the Spaceport".
