The 2016 re-imagined game is primarily an unreliable retelling of events by Qwark.
The re-imagined game primarily describes Captain Qwark's account of events. As Qwark is an unreliable narrator, and contradictory events are in-universe fiction (though those which correspond still apply). Please see Project:Bulletin board/Canon for the wiki's coverage of canon.

Brax Lectrus is a support character in the Ratchet & Clank 2016 re-imagined game and the Ratchet & Clank movie. He is a field operative for the Rangers, alongside Cora Veralux, and a onetime professional wrestler who competed in Grapplemania.[1] Brax is responsible for training Ratchet during his recruitment.

History[]

Brax's cadet photo.

Brax Lectrus gained fame from his "Grapplemania" performance, which caught the eyes of Captain Qwark and led to his recruitment as a Galactic Ranger.[1] In his earlier years as a Ranger, he had hair which was a red afro, and sported 80's disco attire for his first cadet photo.[2]

Brax introduces Ratchet to the fitness course.

Brax visited Veldin along with Qwark and Cora during tryouts to recruit a new Galactic Ranger. The Rangers rejected many tryouts, including Ratchet, and after being unsuccessful, they returned to Kerwan. When blarg warbots attacked the planet, he helped fight them off in the Hall of Heroes, though Ratchet and Clank destroyed the Class G Dreadship and fended off the attack, leading to their recruitment. Brax then introduced Clank to Elaris, while he trained Ratchet, giving him the accelerator course as their attack on Quartu was coming so soon. Brax instructed Ratchet to complete the Galactic Ranger fitness course before leaving Kerwan.[3]

Brax takes on zurkons

Brax uses the Pyrocitor against the evil Zurkons.

Before their attack on Quartu, while Elaris and Clank gave their plans to attack Chairman Drek, he impatiently interrupted as he was uninterested in their plans and anxious to start the mission,[2] and voted to instead carry out Qwark's simplistic plan. While Cora paired up with Ratchet and Clank, Brax went into the factory alone, believing the site to be ambushed, until being ambushed by evil Zurkons, and fighting them off with a Pyrocitor.[2] Brax arrived to help Ratchet and Cora, but was blasted by a large security robot, Mrs. Zurkon, taking no major damage but rendered unable to help further.[3] Afterwards, Brax along with the others helped interrogate Zed, learning that Novalis was the next target, and the team resolved to stop the Deplanetizer.

Brax used his class-g Star Jumper in the fight against the Deplanetizer, though he and Cora withdrew after Qwark went in alone and it appeared impossible to breach its defenses. Ratchet also went in alone, against their advice. However, Qwark betrayed the Rangers, and Novalis was destroyed, leaving Brax and the others distraught. Ratchet returned to Veldin in a pod, and Brax appeared along with the other Rangers to convince him to rejoin the team, cheering him up by showing his old cadet photo after Cora revealed hers.[2] Afterwards, the Rangers, carrying out Elaris' plan, stopped the Deplanetizer from destroying its final target, Umbris, with Brax using Mag Boosters to steer the Deplanetizer off course, and cause it to instead destroy New Quartu.

Characteristics[]

Brax is a sentient reptilian, with scales and spikes on the back of his head, and two purple spikes on each of his shoulders (four in his elite armor). He is roughly the same height as Qwark, with a broad upper body. Though he has no hair, he once had a red afro as seen in his old cadet photo.[2] Brax is gruff and not well spoken, but warm to his allies. He takes Ratchet under his wing as a brother,[4] and is confident and competitive. Brax is very physically strong, able to destroy a warbot with a single punch and throw another.[2] He is also durable, able to take a hit from Mrs. Zurkon and hit a wall, and though he was knocked back, was otherwise unharmed.[3] His weapon of choice is the Combuster, though he has also wielded the Pyrocitor.
