The Blackout Pen is an Agency gadget in Secret Agent Clank. It is an ink blaster modeled after Montiblu fountain pens[1] which can fire ink made from dark matter[2] capable of disabling security lasers and security cameras. Clank obtained the device from an Agency drop box during "Not The Guided Tour".
The pen is used to block lasers and cameras, This makes stealth sections easier, allowing Clank to bypass detection, as well as making it easier to avoid damage. However, it only has a maximum ammo capacity of eight, and relies on specific ammo that can only be obtained from blackout capsule crates which refill ink, and cannot be bought from Agency vendors. Therefore, the player must be conservative when using the weapon. It is best to prioritize moving lasers over stationary ones, and only block other lasers when absolutely necessary so as to preserve ammo.
