Behind the Hero is a HoloVision show in Going Commando. It airs in the Bogon Galaxy and documents heroes, including Ratchet, Clank, and Captain Qwark. Four episodes of Behind the Hero appear in Going Commando: the first is an interview with Ratchet and Clank, while the latter three are episodes that the duo watch on the onboard screen of the Star Explorer. The show's host has admitted in episodes that much of its content is baseless speculation and crackpot theories.[1]

Episodes

Part I

Behind the Hero, Part I 1

Clank and Ratchet on Behind the Hero.

The first episode is a brief interview with Ratchet and Clank, months following the defeat of Chairman Drek in Ratchet & Clank. The two describe their events since, in which they attended parades, press conferences, fancy dress balls, the grand opening at Groovy Lube six months prior to the interview, and a wiener roast at Al's. Immediately after the interview, Qwark, disguised as Abercrombie Fizzwidget, teleported them onto his ship to offer them jobs.[2]

Part II

The second episode was watched by Ratchet and Clank on their way to Notak after defeating the Thugs-4-Less in the Feltzin System in "Defeat the Thug Ships". The episode describes Qwark selling bogus merchandise that he claimed were Gadgetron products. One product, the Personal Hygienator, had a defect caused severe irritation in sensitive body areas, leading authorities to intervene.[3]

Part III

Behind the Hero, Part III

Captain Qwark on trial.

The third episode was watched by Ratchet and Clank on their way to Dobbo after leaving Tabora. This describes the Galactic Court ordering Qwark to pay six billion bolts in damages as a result of the irritation caused by the Personal Hygienator product. Qwark was arrested two days later trying to flee to Pokitaru and then placed in custody until he escaped using the toilet.[4]

Part IV

The final episode was watched by Ratchet and Clank on their way to Smolg, following "Rescue Angela" on Snivelak. This episode simply speculates on Qwark's whereabouts, as he had been missing for six weeks following his escape from jail.[1]

Behind the scenes

Originally, rather than Qwark "flushing his way to freedom" to escape the prison, the line was originally that he "chiseled his way from prison using only his firmly toned buttocks". This was removed as it was deemed inappropriate.[5]
