The Azorean Sea is a location in Quest for Booty. A sea on Merdegraw, it was home to a fleet of space pirates led by Sprocket.
In "Fight the Pirates", Ratchet and Talwyn Apogee originally came to the sea in search of Angstrom Darkwater, but found Rusty Pete there. Rusty Pete gave away their location to Sprocket, who informed them Darkwater had died and sent his crew to kill them.[1] When they were finally caught, Sprocket prepared to fire them off to Morrow Caverns, before Rusty Pete, wearing Captain Slag's head as a disguise, ordered Sprocket to instead send them to Hoolefar Island.[2]

Later, when Darkwater, who had been fused with Slag's head and revived leading his army of undead pirates, trapped Ratchet at Darkwater Cove, he commanded the fleet to sail the Azorean Sea to Hoolefar Island[3] so he could use the Obsidian Eye to plunder the Zoni world, taking the captured Talwyn with him. In "Recover the Fulcrum Star", Ratchet recovered Talwyn and defeated Darkwater and Slag,[4] severing the union between them.[5]
Aside from the pirate ships, the Azorean Sea seems to be home to offshore wind turbines, presumably powering Hoolefar Island, as seen on Rusty Pete's drawings of the sea. It also has many tall underwater mountains that jut out of the water.
