Asyanica is a city in space featuring in Secret Agent Clank. It is a high-tech, lawless city, run by the crime boss Number Woo, who enforces his will through his robot ninja army. Clank visited the planet in search of the Eye of Infinity, hoping Number Woo knew more.

History[]

Asyanica was a crime-ridden city run by Number Woo, whose robot ninja army enforced his will.[1]

Number Woo's Ambush

Clank came to Asyanica in search of the Eye of Infinity, after a fortune cookie from the Use Your Noodle Cookie Company was his only lead.[2] When Clank arrived, he was immediately electrocuted, suggesting Number Woo was waiting for him. Number Woo then captured Clank and strapped him to a wall in front of a laser, which once the robot ninjas charged, would destroy him permanently. Instead, in "Free Agent Clank!", Clank summoned gadgebot mk.IIs to free him.[1]

Cornering Number Woo

In "Number Woo works for...?", after the gadgebots freed him, Clank confronted and cornered Number Woo, using Tie-A-Rangs to keep him locked in place, promising to free him on condition he tell Clank where the Eye was taken. Number Woo responded that he had sent it to Countess Ivana Lottabolts on Glaciara. Clank did not free him, believing he would try to kill Clank if he did, leading him to free himself and activate a laser to destroy him; the laser simply collapsed and was destroyed, causing heavy damage to the city.[3]

Qwark Tales Larger Than Life

After the damage was done, Captain Qwark arrived to the wrecked city with Barney During "Qwarkography, Ch. 1", Qwark claimed the destruction of the city was due to his epic battle with a giant mechanical monster that had taken over Asyanica, in which he used a growth pad that he enhanced himself to enable his battle.[4]

Geography[]

The city of Asyanica was located in space. It was described as a "neon jungle" where "every street could be a waiting deathtrap"[1] due to the bright neon lights of the rooftops and the rampant crime. Although the dominance of the robot ninja gangs implied the city was almost entirely lawless, the flying car traffic and presence of the Use Your Noodle Cookie Company using an ancient proverb[2] implied the presence of a society and culture.

Asyanica comprised skyscrapers lit by bright neon lights across their walls. The skyscrapers ranged from pyramid-shaped buildings to ones with a more regular shape, and many of the buildings were connected with skybridges. The city was filled with flying car traffic, and flying taxis are used for transport at parts. In the distance, clusters of a few skyscrapers on floating rocks (resembling asteroids) were visible, likely as satellites of the city.
