Artemis Zogg's warship is a location in the Ratchet & Clank comic series. Serving as the headquarters of Artemis Zogg, it is a large vessel holding the Geo-Shift Sphere and the Surinox Shard, both essential to the Helios Project, which Zogg used to abduct planets into the Artemis Galaxy. This ship served as Zogg's base of operations and residence as Galactic President, where he commanded his Chief Warmonger, Vorn Garblak.
The ship was guarded by Zogg's legion of warbots and housed a fleet of space fighters. Spherical "transport orbs" on board were used for moving passengers to nearby locations, and warbots were regularly deployed via these orbs to newly captured planets to ensure Zogg's control.
History[]
Zogg moved the Geo-Shift Sphere to his warship after seizing Project Helios, following his election loss five months prior to the events of Lost and Spaced.[1]
During Ears of War, Zogg arrived near Veldin aboard his warship. Garblak delivered a declaration of Zogg's rule to Veldin's inhabitants before the planet was transported into the Artemis Galaxy.[2] After Zogg's warbots captured Ratchet and Clank, they were brought to his warship via a transport orb.[3] In Friends with Benefits, Zogg thanked them for their "services" and had them transferred to the Vartax Detention Facility.[4] Three months later, Zogg executed Mr. Klink, the facility's warden, via a viewscreen from his warship due to Klink's failure to keep them incarcerated.[5]
In Lost and Spaced, using Helios, Zogg moved himself and his galaxy to evade the Galactic Rangers' EMP attacks.[6] After abducting Zaurik, Zogg descended from his warship in a transport orb to offer President Phyronix the role of Vice President of the Artemis Galaxy.[7]
Knowing Veldin was Ratchet and Clank's home, Zogg transported it to a distant, dark area of deep space, threatening to destroy it unless the duo surrendered. In {{subst:fta}}, they agreed and entered Zogg's teleport station at the Hestrus Nebula, Drogol Sector, which brought them aboard his warship near Veldin.[8]
After teleporting, Ratchet and Clank's allies traced their location to Zogg's warship. Clank set off a bomb from his chest cavity, allowing them to reach the ship's bridge amid the chaos. Ratchet then called on Talwyn Apogee and Sasha Phyronix to launch an assault on Zogg's warship, sparking space dogfights between Zogg's warbots and the attacking forces. [9]
Upon locating the shard, Zogg armed himself with a Tesla Coil and destroyed the Geo-Shift Sphere to prevent Veldin's return. Just as Zogg prepared to execute Ratchet and Clank, Apogee rammed her ship into the bridge, shielding Ratchet and allowing him and Clank to escape with the shard in a transport orb. They regretfully descended to a now frozen Veldin, while Talwyn was captured.[10]
In Multiple Organisms, with his warship damaged and the shard lost, Zogg was stranded without a quick return route to his galaxy. Conventional travel would take thirteen years.[11] Zogg held Apogee hostage and refused to surrender despite President Phyronix's demands.[12] However, Garblak ultimately freed Apogee from her cell.[13]
Meanwhile, Ratchet reached Veldin's Planetary Defense Center and encountered General Glahm, who sought revenge on Zogg. Despite Ratchet's objections, Glahm activated the defense systems and destroyed Zogg's warship. Unknown to others, Zogg escaped with Apogee and Garblak in a transport orb just before the ship's destruction.[14]
Layout[]
The warship contained multiple levels and areas, heavily guarded by armed warbots. The ship's exterior was protected by Magna-cannons. Artemis Zogg and Vorn Garblak were the only organic inhabitants, with workerbots managing ship functions. A map onboard was written in Markazian.[15]
The ship's rear housed docking stations for transport orbs and shuttle fighters, and there was a detainment wing where Zogg held prisoners. The bridge at the ship's bow served as the main control hub for the Helios Project. Zogg's presidential office was his primary residence and the governing center of the Artemis Galaxy.
Behind the scenes[]
The ship remained unnamed throughout the Ratchet & Clank comic series but was referred to as "Zogg's warship" by Galactic Ranger Squadron Echo-Three-Bravo in Ratchet & Clank: Issue 3: Lost and Spaced.
